Faithlife and Bible App comparison

We've been testing Proclaim for presentations for a while, utilising the Bible app on phones and tablets to pick up the Signals.
Given you need a Faithlife login to access the Bible app I also downloaded the Faithlife app, which also gives you access to the Proclaim Signals, as well as foot notes and other community features that Bible doesn't.
Is there a comparison of the two apps, as it seems redundant to have both on the phone for use with Proclaim - or suggest the rest of the congregation install both - given their similarities?

Actually, you don't. You can make one Logos account and use it for all applications - Faithlife, Proclaim, Virso, etc. The Bible app is technically the Logos app.

The Bible app does give you access to the Proclaim signals and is integrated with Faithlife so you can use it for community features to the same extent as the Faithlife Study Bible (FSB) app. The big difference is that the FSB app has a different format and not as many features as the Bible app (passage guide, word study), and it includes the commentary standard in a secondary window that cannot be closed.

You are correct that it would be redundant to have both resources. I have encouraged our members to use the Bible app for now for several reasons:

1. It is easier to demonstrate how to use the app if everyone is using the same one. Since the two apps do not share the same layout, it would introduce confusion in trying to explain navigation.

2. The Bible app can be used with the FSB commentary, if one owns it, so you aren't losing anything if you really want that resource.

3. It is still not clear when or how much Logos plans to charge for the FSB app. Right now, they are saying that it will be an annual subscription of $30 beginning March 2014. The Bible app is free and it does everything that we need it to do (we are using Proclaim and Faithlife). I think that the participation would be significantly less if there was a cost involved for individuals to use the tools.
