How do you change the brightness of a background pic so the words can be seen clearly?
There is not a way to edit a background image in Proclaim. You'll need to edit the image in an image processing suite (such as MS Paint, or Photoshop) then re-upload that background.
Otherwise, you can select Customize to change the font color or brightness of that text.
