I have tried to put an audio track on a content slide, however no audio plays when i go on-air.
The sound computer is on and working and my computer is up to date with Windows XP SP 3.

I've just tried this and it seems to work fine for me (I am on Windows 7 but that shouldn't affect anything)
What do you get when you look at the audio settings for the content slide?

That's exactly what mine looks like as well. it works on my Windows 7 computer as well. Also, videos are not working on our Windows XP computer but are on my Windows 7 computer. This is the first time this problem has happened... did they break something in an update?
Nick, which version of Windows Media Player do you have installed on your XP machine? On my version of WMP, you can right click the toolbar, then select Help > About Windows Media Player, and you'll see the version number in the resulting pop-up.
