Moving Logos to another Drive

I followed the instructions here: http://wiki.logos.com/Install_in_different_folder_or_drive

When I launch the software it is still trying to download the books 13.6 GB from the server.

I kill the index in task manager, the software opens. I told it to open up a blank layout..

I use the scan command, restart the software, but it still wants to download the 13 GB from the server.

What am I doing wrong?

There are remnants of the software on the c drive.

Based on the snapshots here it seems as if either the software did not move, or I somehow reinstalled it using the junction software.

Renamed the Logos4 folder on the c: drive, now it is at a stage where it says, preparing your library.

It would help if you described exactly what you did, as it appears that you did not move the logos4 folder on C: drive.

Where is it preparing your library - which drive has your resources?

Apparently, Logos was confused with whether to use c or d. After renaming the folder in C: came home and all is well. Can I delete the Logos4 folder on Drive C? Space is low. 32 GB left.

I don't have a complete picture of what you did. If you are sure that the redirection to is working then delete the renamed folder in C:.

Indexing is finished, Logos has reinstalled itself on the C drive. But most of the space is still there. The folder is 23 GB.

Bradley since you are trouble shooting, is there a way to get rid of the software from C: where it has reinstalled itself and keep it on without downloading and indexing all over again.

Start by telling us exactly what you did - which procedure in the wiki were you attempting to follow, etc

Thanks for your patience Dave. I just realize that there were two options.

If you have already installed and want to move your Logos installation to a different drive (and don’t feel like uninstalling and reinstalling it):

Close Logos first!
Open two instances of Windows Explorer side-by-side
In the first, navigate to your User Application Data folder (in XP, that’s C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Application Data; in Vista and Windows 7 it’sC:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local)
In the second, navigate to the drive where you want to move Logos
Move the entire Logos4 folder from where it currently resides to a new drive location by dragging and dropping it in Windows Explorer
Download junction.exe from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768 and save it to a folder that is already on your PATH, such as C:\windows
Open a Command prompt (Start > Run > cmd.exe)
Change directory to the place where the Logos4 folder used to be (see above) using the cd command (you must use quotes if there are spaces in the path), e.g., cd “C:\Users\John Doe\AppData\Local”
Using the junction command, create a link called Logos4 to the new location, e.g., junction Logos4 \Logos4
Exit the command prompt (type exit and press Enter)

This is what I attempted to do. Not sure if I actually did it.

In the command prompt I had to type in the path. Dos was not showing it. Now Logos files is showing up in C as well as D drive. The short cut is pointing to .

After indexing, Logos seems to have recreated the folders on C.

Exactly where is Logos installed on C:? What happened to the renamed folder on C: (what is its path)? Where is Logos installed on ? What is the path to the shortcut? Exactly where does the shortcut point?

Were you attempting to move the whole Logos folder to drive?

Which installation is working? How big are the files on and C:?

Uninstall Logos from Control Panel and remove all the remaining Logos folders on C: and .
