Hmm, the same search on my PC says it took 1.55 sec, but took about 4 seconds to display. I know when testing in Beta i had to adjust my video adapter's hardware acceleration because my display was really jumpy. Try adjusting it, start=>control panel=>Display=>settings tab=>Advanced=>Troubleshoot=>Hardware acceleration. Move slider one notch at a time to the left and see if that changes how Logos4 handles the gui interface.

JoeK, Thanks, but it didn't make any difference, even when set all the way to the left.
However, since rebooting this morning, the same search took 12-15s to display while reporting 2.3 sec to perform (everything else is the same on the system). Maybe the input devices change needed a reboot to have most effect? Not sure. But it is certainly better. Scrolling could still improve a little too, but is significantly improved after the change to input devices.

Interesting that it reported 2.3 sec to perform the search but took 12-15 sec to display. Others have reported that getting a better (faster; more memory) video card can dramatically improve the performance of Logos. See this thread.

In Win7...is it tablet input service and not Ink services?
Yes Robert, that's right.

Thanks Rosie, but I'm using a laptop with integrated graphics so can't change graphics card. But all other programs are fine, even DVD playback etc, so it seems to be a Logos software issue to me.

Oh yes, I agree! I don't think it's something Logos needs to fix. It's a Windows thing. Does anyone know of a way to override User Account Control for just one program that you trust (i.e., Logos) so you can run it in administrator mode without the elevation prompt and without turning off UAC altogether (which can be a security risk)?
You could be right about it being a Microsoft issue. I don't know about the UAC thing. I tried to adjust it for my machine but the only thing I could do is turn UAC completely off and I don't want to do that. I'll keep looking into this though.

Let me know what you find out! I'm dying for a solution to this as I have several other apps that I need to run in administrator mode for one reason or another. And the incessant UAC prompts are getting really annoying.

These Logos stats don't mean much. In another thread (during beta) someone from Logos admitted that they are only measuring the internal workings of the search.
Once that is complete it is up to the rest of the logos' engine and your computer system to display the results. Yet much of the "problem" appears to be in that "rest of the Logos engine" area. Even some folks with blazing fast video set-ups are still complaining about "slow' searches.
Mark Twain (and others) have said there are "lies, dammed lies and statistics." Just because it is a "number" does not mean that it is relevant. Logos' claimed "search" time seems to fit this scenario.

My other machine is a laptop with integrated graphics and Logos runs pretty well on it. But integrated graphics use more CPU and RAM than dedicated graphics, and will degrade performance of L4. This is just more noticeable for some than for others.
However, 4.0a, which is in RC1 stage now, is a bit faster than SR-7. I suspect that some will see noticeable improvement for some things, and others won't see enough.
I assume you've tried all the suggestions mentioned on this page (they've all been on the forum at one point or another):

I know you've tried some (at least) of these already, but I put here just in case you missed the one hint that may free up the log jam.
I sure wish we could help get you going. It must be frustrating.
