Accessing song database a pain, am I doing it wrong?

I am using Proclaim on a Mac and I have SongSelect connected. When I type in a song title to search the database it takes a long time to finally finish searching. It appears that it does a separate search for each key stroke. So you have to wait for it to finish searching each phrase of the typed progression. So if you want to find "Your Grace is Enough" the search seems to work like this...

- Y .... search

- Yo .... search

- You .... search

- Your ..... search

- Your G .... search

- Your Gr .... search

And so on until it make it all the way through the phrase. If you mistype you have to wait until it finishes all the way through your phrase and then go back (often it will search on each keystroke going back) and then retype it out and wait again.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, it would be helpful if it didn't search the database until you hit enter or click a search button or something.

You shouldn't have to wait for the searching to complete to keep typing or make revisions. Is it lagging your computer?

No, it does not lag my computer, just Proclaim. I'll see if I can make a video capture of it.

Here is video of what I'm experiencing...

The video shows:

I select a song to change it to a new song (this happens before the video starts)
I backspace over the old title and proclaim immediately starts searching.
I mistakenly don't backspace over the whole old song title.
I start typing the new song title and finished typing quickly. But proclaim bogs down as it is doing searches on each change on what is in the title field.
When it finally finishes with searching for Youyour grace is enough I select the whole title and start typing. This time proclaim starts the search after I'm finished typing.

And I forgot to add. The title is all real-time. I am not typing slowly. Each keystroke was actually quick, proclaim is just slow in the response.
