Adding extra messages to songs

We have an Offering Hymn, which includes a note at the top that says "As the offering is brought forward we stand and sing:"

I've tried writing this in Verse 1, but obviously when I put a space between the note and the actual song lyrics it creates a new slide, so I had to put an underscore on the line in between, which is not perfect, but works.
I've also tried editing it further in Customize, which works if I create two Custom text boxes, but that then appears on EVERY slide, when it only needs to be on the first slide.
Is there a way of either including a line space without it creating a new slide or else a way of adding a comment on the first slide that doesn't appear on another slide?
(I'm not looking at repeating Verse 1 without the comment, as understand that would be easier creating a separate verse )

I encourage you to suggest this at http://proclaim.uservoice.com; other users can upvote the suggestions they would also like to see in Proclaim. There are already some suggestions involving greater control over the formatting of text in Song Service Items, you may be able to find your suggestion there.

Here is something you could do as a workaround.

Add the song with ONLY the first verse. Customize it with the custom text box, like you mention. Add the song again with the rest of the verses. Uncheck the options on the second "song" (like credits, title on first slide, etc).

So, in your Order of Service you would have "Offering Hymn" (with only the announcement and verse 1) followed by "Offering Hymn (2)" (with verses 2,3,etc).

When you go On Air, you should be able to go from "Offering Hymn" (with announcement) straight into "Offering Hymn (2)" (with the rest of the song)

Not ideal, I know, but it should allow you to do what you are trying to do.
