How change layout that opens with reading plan?

When I click on the reading plan for the day on the home screen, I am taken to that place in my resource to continue reading  for that day's assignment. BUT, it always takes me to a pretty plain layout and I always have to change it to the named layout I want. Seems like I should be able to assign a specific layout to the reading list. Is there a way to do that?

    No.

I'm going to get in trouble here, but I'll do it anyway. [:P]

Logos has a feature called "saved layouts." I don't like that nomenclature because it is misleading… at least to me. A "saved layout" isn't really about the layout, it is about the resources & resource locations. If you place your devotional into the layout, it isn't going to open to the days reading, it is going to open where you left off. I think of it more as a "saved study."

I would love to see a REAL layout feature, which isn't about resources & resource locations, but is ONLY about design of layout. If they had this feature, you would be able to set a default layout and have the devotional open to the layout of your choice.

Don't get me wrong… the "saved layout" feature of Logos is great… it just isn't really a "layout" feature.

Read this wiki article to find more about layouts. Although I don't make use of a Reading Plan one way I would manage it outside the Home Page is as follows:-

<waiting for Logos to allow a screen shot>

Basically, open the resource in one pane and move the Reading Plan into a half pane that is used by Tools like Cited By.

For clarification Dave… do you mean the reading plan document? That's a good idea! [:)]

This let's me open the right layout the first time a layout is opened, which is what I wanted.  Still seems like I should be able to assign a layout to a reading plan.

    Thanks, Dave

One idea is open layout for reading, click home page, click day's assignment, which returns to open layout and changes location.

What same answer? We've been able to customize the default layouts for years. I assume you are starting with the Layouts > Home Page > Bible Reading Plan layout?

Each layout can be customized. To save the current snapshot as a QuickStart layout:

    1. Click the Layouts menu .
    2. Right-click a QuickStart layout and choose Replace with current layout. Users can also hover over the layout and click the downward-pointing triangle that appears on the right side of the layout name.
    3. To restore the QuickStart layout to its default state, choose Restore default layout from this same menu.

    Home Page Layouts

Home Page Layouts work in the same way ~QuickStart Layouts do.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Is there a way to customize non-Bible reading plans? Being able to customize the Bible Reading Plan layout is great, but I also have reading plans for other books that still open to a generic reading plan layout that I don't know can be customized. Would love for this feature to be added!

Old post but I still haven't found the answer. If I change the Bible Reading Plan layout and save that layout, that the next time I open it, it opens to the readings for the day I changed and saved the layout.

Is there any way to change the Bible Reading Plan layout, save it as a new layout, and make it so that the next time I open that layout, it opens to the current (most current unread) reading?
