Logos 5 crashing on opening

I have tried to open Logos 5 three times today. Each time it has crashed immediately upon opening. I used it yesterday just fine. Logos seldom if ever crashed on my computer, so this is a very unusual problem.
The first time it happened I simply tried to restart Logos. It crashed again immediately upon startup. I turned off my laptop and rebooted. I tried again, and it failed. I created a log file and have attached it to this message in a .zip folder as suggested.
I'm not having any other known issues with internet programs, Office programs, etc. Assistance welcome. I don't know what else to say, it is crashing immediately upon startup, before it can even connect to the server.
Thanks for any help possible!

For the record, I was reading in another thread where a suggestion was made to open it to a blank layout and go from there. I tried that suggestion just to see if it would work on mine and it did. Logos is working fine once I got the program opened. I don't know if this helps any, but I thought I would offer it up to show it isn't apparently a problem with the program, but rather with the program trying to interface with the opening screen. Make any sense to people who know these kind of things?

Mine will also work when I use the blank layout. As soon as I try to get to home screen, program stops again.

Hi John
It looks as though you are hitting the bug which has affected a number of people (I believe the fix is already in the beta release) related to resizing or maximising the homepage when you have it set up to show information from the Logos blog.
For details of a workaround please see http://community.logos.com/forums/p/68313/476117.aspx#476117
Hope this helps
Graham
Edit: Apologies - it wasn't until I saw Alabama's post that I realised two Johns had posted here[:$] My comments related to what i saw in John Fraser's logs (though it is clearly possible that John Austin is hitting the same problem)

There is a known bug which causes problems with the homepage, especially if the Logos "blog" is being displayed. This may be the cause of your issue. Am I to understand that you are "good to go" except loading to the home page?

Hi John! Welcome to the forums. Same applies for you, and not just because your name is also John. [:)]

Apparently I've received the "beta fix" which appears to be working. The only way I could get Logos to start was by holding down the control key and then selecting the "open on blank page."
Thanks.

Hi John
With the fix you wouldn't need to open to a blank page. So I am guessing - assuming you have the same problem as John Fraser - that you have the Logos Blog enabled in your homepage. If that is the case, disable that and you should be able to open Logos normally again.
And while I think I remember seeing this being flagged as fixed in a beta release I can't see it in the release notes so would need confirmation from Logos on this.

The reason that I'm thinking that something got "fixed" is that Logos opens normally now ... in the home page ... with Logos Blog enabled. I had this same problem a couple of weeks ago and called tech support. They had me disable anything on my home page that came from their servers at start up. They told me that there would be a fix in next update. When the next update occurred, I re-enabled the blog and it's been working since ... until this morning. And, lo and behold, now it's working again. I'm happy, happy, happy. Thanks.

Awesome, Graham (and all the others who chimed in). I did open up Logos, reduced the size of the screen, turned off Logos Blog, maximized it, and Logos works perfectly.
Thanks for the solution! You guys are great!
Also, alabama ... you are correct in your understanding. The blog issue was the main problem. Now that I've got a workaround, I'm good to go. Thanks!0 -

Glad to hear it is working for you now.
Please feel free to come back with any questions about the use of Logos software.

Just FYI. Mine quit working again. The only way to open it is to use the "Open Blank Layout" option. Are we still looking for a fix in an update?
