I use Logos5, but here is a place to look. On the menu bar, choose Tools > Program Settings.
In the panel you should see some choices under General.
My first line shows At Startup Open to followed by a dropdown like this:
- Home
- Blank layout
- Most recent layout
- etc.
Choose the one you like and close the panel, then restart Logos to see what you get.

Hi Jack,
Logos 4 does not have At Startup Open.

Peace to you, Brother, in your dilemma! *smile* Perhaps it's time for you to go to Logos 5???
Here is an encouraging thread ........ http://community.logos.com/forums/t/69498.aspx
I guess the key here is that you need Windows 8 for this to work.
Again, another big "however"!..... Logos 5 is also free for the other "set-ups" .. !!! *smile*
You won't get all the lovely "fancy" stuff that Logos 5 does, but your Logos Purchases will function.
What base package do you have?
Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand..........

what I remember of L4 is that if you didn't have the "open to homepage" option checked then on restarting Logos it should open to the same state as when you closed it.
- what state are you leaving Logos in when you close it?
- Are you running Logos 4 on multiple machines?

Thanks. None of the suggested solutions seem to work.

Hi Lucy - and welcome to the forums.
can you provide a few more details?
- What version of Logos are you using?
- what OS?
- in what state are you leaving Logos when you shut it down?

Logos 4 does have homepage at startup. It's under customize just like logos 5. I agree Logos 4 is acting a bit strange. I can not get the "updated resources, my logos messages, etc." to show up on the homepage either.

Oops. Sorry. I have the same problem. I am running Logos 4 on XP.

- Do you have the option to open homepage at startup disabled under "customise settings"?

I try to disable it but it makes no difference. I am closing Logos 4 on a blank page.

You need to set up a layout as per the wiki page http://wiki.logos.com/Layouts__#How_do_I_get_a_layout_to_show_when_I_open_Logos.3f
What version of Logos are you using (Help > About Logos ...look at top left, above your Email sign-in).

Logos 5 moved Home Page startup to Program Settings with the latest release 5.0b.

Those are working in v5 for me. Do you mean v4 (I expect that a call to Customer Service might be needed for your problem).

I know how to create a page layout. However there is no way in the Logos 4 I have of setting a layout as the default startup layout. As I said, every time I start the program it begins with the home page irrespective of whether I uncheck under customize "show homepage at startup". I am using Logos Bible Software 4.6b SR-3 (4.62.0.2683)

You need to start Logos with the Ctrl key held and then choose a Blank Layout. Create a layout from there.

This sounds like something is broken, as that customize setting is supposed to work as you'd expect it to. It must be configuration specific, as I've never heard of anyone else having it not work for them. You might need to call Logos Tech Support and have them connect to your computer to explore what is going on and why it isn't working. I'm not sure any of us would be able to diagnose it without the tools they have.

You need to start Logos with the Ctrl key held and then choose Blank Layout. Create or select a layout from there (I think you could even select a Layout from the Home Page if you have one).

Which remark finally stirred my memory cells --> http://community.logos.com/forums/t/66874.aspx (a new system on Win XP, now happily running 4.6c beta 3).
It is now more widespread and appears to be connected with the recent SR-3 update. I haven't tried the 4.6c beta 4 update which introduces a new sync method for Home Page preferences, but if nothing I suggested above works and Logos has nothing else to offer, then there is no other choice.

I have given up trying to fix this problem. Rosie is correct. So I upgrade by PC and installed Logos 5.
