How to prevent a line break from creating two slides

When I am trying to create properly formatted text on a content slide and insert a blank line between two lines on that slide, Proclaim splits my text across two slides. How to I prevent this undesired behavior? I am forced to put a period on the blank line right now to prevent this. Surely there must be a less crude way of getting proper white space in a content slide.

Mark,
This is strange, generally a line with only "--" on it should create a new slide. I will make a case to check this behavior out.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

Proclaim will break text into slide groups automatically at paragraph boundaries (blank line) when the content on the slide does not fit without shrinking the font. That is, the automatic layout prefers adding another slide to keep the font size legible. One possible workaround is to customize the slide to reduce the desired font size.

Really wish you had a way to turn off automatic layout so that I could set it up and have it look and behave the way I want and not the way Proclaim thinks it should be.
