remote control frustrations

Our church rents a local school for worship and have had unending problems with the remote app.  Every Sunday since starting to use Proclaim, I have had problems with the remote app on my ipad.  The control will drop or lag causing interruptions to the sermon.  I thought it might be the school's wireless setup, so went out and got a verizon hotspot and set up our own wireless.  Why does the control drop?  It really is a nuisance when I'm preaching and instead of advancing to the next portion of the bible, I get an error message or the congregation gets a blank look on their face because I'm reading a text that is not showing up on the screen.  Having to look over my shoulder constantly to make sure the slide is advancing is a terrible distraction and a real pain.  Everything connects right off the bat.  That's not the issue.  It's the inconsistency that's so frustrating.  Any ideas dear friends?  Technology should work!

Did you test the hotspot this last Sunday? Our servers have been healthy with respect to load for the last 6 weeks or so but last Sunday we experienced some outages due to an issue with our ISP. I apologize for the frustration, we're working hard to provide greater reliability.

I have also found inconsistency with the remote for my ipad.  As I am preaching many times the slide will advance and be projecting fine, but it is blank on the ipad, so I have to read it from the projected image instead of the ipad, which defeats the whole purpose of having the remote on the ipad.

I also have had issues, this being the second sunday in a row where the remote is working fine just before our Kid's service starts, then right around 11am et the remote fails to connect. I run everything from the remote because if frees us to be able to do our song service from start to finish, as well as tie in our puppet intros with the message. This has been very frustrating because I love the proclaim interface. It is so easy and elegant. But with this being the second sunday we may have to start looking to other software to fulfill the need.

I did notice today while trying to frantically connect the remote app to the on air presentation, that after taking the presentation off air and reloading the program on the computer and even restarting phone app, the remote app showed the old presentation still open. I know it was the old presentation because the time was when I launched it before service to make sure everything was good. It was unable to see the new presentation online. I even tried to load a new playlist then switch to the one I needed and it would stay stuck on the old one. Trust me trying to entertain kids while fixing a computer glitch is not fun and gets ugly quick. Hopefully they can acknowledge this issue and fix it next release.

Sorry to hear about the issues you experienced. There were no known server issues this weekend so I'm investigating our logs to try and explain the confusion. I will follow up with your privately with further details.
