Notes Editor Bug / Feature Request: Size of Hebrew Text when pasting

When I paste Hebrew text into a Note (from the LHB for example), the text is pasted in huge size 20 letters, and the font is changed from default to Ezra SIL (my Hebrew font).
I would like to see it paste the Hebrew text at the same size as the font I am currently using (normally 11). If it uses the default Hebrew font to paste the Hebrew text, I would like it to automatically "change back" to whatever font I was using (normally Default) so I can immediately continue typing in that font.

We will be adding a "clear formatting" button in the next beta that could aide you if you paste then select the text and clear formatting. This will also help you return to a default format after pasting (without a selection). I hope this helps.

Thanks that will be helpful. From my above suggestions, please at least consider changing the default font size of the Hebrew pasted text. It seems to only be a problem with Hebrew... all other languages I have tried paste at normal sizes.

I believe the issue is that the Hebrew text you are copying is actually formatted that way (i.e. the resource has the text at that size as well) and the editor accepts the formatting of the text that is pasted in.
You mentioned the LHB, so I checked that resource's text. The verses are formatted with a font size of 20 while its verse indicators are size 10. When copying and pasting into a note, this is exactly the formatting that came across.
I dug further and discovered that the AFAT and BHS are likewise formatted with a font size of 20. However, I found other resources with Hebrew text at various sizes (Qumran fragments, lexicons, etc) and all of these also pasted in at the appropriate size.
So, unfortunately, I think the case you describe is the intended behavior (i.e. copy-paste should maintain formatting).

OK, thanks for looking into that. Maybe long term a reasonable goal to fix problems like this (cutting and pasting from Hebrew Bibles in Logos will be relatively common among certain groups of users) could be to add the possibility to paste "text only" and / or "merge formatting" like in Word. If there were a keyboard shortcut to directly invoke it that could be a useful and easy to use tool.

Great suggestion! That does seem like the most appropriate solution in this case. I'm not sure what the cost of said feature would be, but I will pass it along.

I do hope this is a PC problem, and that you've made sure that Shift-Opt-Cmd-V keeps working on Mac?

I can't ever remember that combo… so I have to use "edit | paste and match style" from the menu. [:$]

Yes. I've verified that Shift-Opt-Cmd-V still works on Mac.
I've discussed the feature request for Windows and the current plan is implement this on Windows in a future release soon after 5.1 ships.

I don't have to remember it. I use it so often that my finger muscles remember it for me.
(On the other hand, I can never remember the keyboard shortcuts for Spotlight and Logos Command bar.[:$])
Hmm... talking about shortcuts:
Alan, are you doing anything about my old issue that several shortcuts don't work on a Swedish keyboard? See http://community.logos.com/forums/p/50517/373125.aspx#373125 (I notice my last two posts on that thread are to wonder if there was ever even a case written...).

There is a case for those issues. They are not currently targeted for this release, but they are on the backlog.

Thank you for confirming and getting back to me. It is so incredibly frustrating when month after month -- sometimes year after year -- goes by, and you can't even get a confirmation that a case was written.

I am very happy to confirm that it does indeed work on RC1.
Now, if you would only include it in Help as well.[;)] (issue 1 seems essentially fixed)

Alan,
I am having a similar problem. Nothing I have tried allows me to copy and paste the Hebrew font into my Word 7 (Office 2013) document or reduce it. I have called Logos twice and followed their directions. When nothing worked, they suggested creating a post, which I did. One of the Power Users suggested this link. I see that other users have the questions. Not only can I not reduce the font size without the letters going to circles with vowel points underneath, but the Hebrew word sends my Word document into gyrations of single spacing, left justifying, and absurd paragraphing. Even if the SBL font from the Hebrew text whether from the Biblical Hebraica or the NASB is formatted in 20-point font, I hope I can reduce it and paste it without all the drama. I appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you,
Sharon Gresham

Sharon, I'm afraid your issue is not quite the same as the one here since you seem to be pasting into a Word document. The problem reported here had to do with pasting into our notes editor within the app (something we have more control over).
I did find and read your other thread on this issue (https://community.logos.com/forums/p/97608/673616.aspx), I will reply there.
