In 5.1 Beta 9 (on mac 10.8.4), right click on verse, click "reference", and click "add a note". Note is created, but does not automatically open to new verse, instead it opens the notes file and scrolls to the bottom of the notes file.
Confirmed
Maybe I am misunderstanding, but I am having trouble finding the incorrect behavior. What do you mean when you say 'does not automatically open to new verse'? Any additional information you can provide would be helpful. Thank you!
I meant to say that it doesn't automatically open to the new note linked to the verse. Instead it opens the notes document and then scrolls to the bottom of the document.
It also goes to the bottom of the notes document when you initially click on a note that has already been created. If you click it a second time, it then will go to the specific note.
I meant to say that it doesn't automatically open to the new note linked to the verse.
My experience is slightly different from this. It does open the new note, but it does not scroll to that location. Rather, it scrolls to the bottom of the note document. If memory serves, this is the reappearance of a similar bug from several months ago. At that time, it was a Mac-only bug, which it appears to be here.
Jack, my computer is doing the same thing as yours. I create the new note entry and it opens the correct notes file, but scrolls to the bottom of the file rather than the actual note that I created. I remember a similar bug from a while back too...
Oh no, is that one back!
Kelly, to recreate you need a note file that continues well below the screen, and you need to create the new note to a reference that puts it almost at the top. Then, when you've added it, you should see the bottom of the note file, instead of the newly created note, which means you will have to scroll up before you can see to type in your note content.
The version of the bug that Michael mentions requires a restart of the computer to be seen -- it's some kind of caching issue, I believe -- but it doesn't sound like the first reported version does.
The rest of you: correct me if anything I just said is wrong. I can't confirm since I'm on stable, but I saw enough of the old bug to believe I understand what you're saying.
You are absolutely correct.
I can't see this in RC1. Does it still happen to the rest of you?
Hmm... Logos crashed in the background as I was typing this, and gave me a little report window to fill in. Is that new in this beta, or is it specific to beta builds in general?
Appears to have been corrected in RC-1 [<:o)]
