I also think there is some historical value to this, even if it has been proved to be incorrect. I think is shows that we all must be careful with the conclusions we make. On a lighter note, on my first trip to Israel the guide pointed me to the exact tree that Zacchaeus climbed to see Jesus. Having a healthy sense of skepticism is a good thing as we listen to anyone or read any resource.

Actually, I didn't mean to hint that people shouldn't buy. Rather, jokingly, that you shouldn't scare them off by showing off its flaws. I love old photos and drawings from the Holy Land. In fact, you just inspired me to write to Logos and suggest they try to get the rights to an old photo collection I happen to know about.

Yes!            *smile*                         I most certainly "echo" Paul!                             Also, this thread has been quite exciting -- really!     I'm "in," of course; and I have also noticed that Logos is permitting $2.00 increments for this offering....

We've often asked for smaller increments; and I most certainly thank Logos for following through and accommodating our perceived desires!        *smile*

Sorry, I don't want to tip off the competition in case they happen to read.[:)]

Let's do this thing - only a handful of bids needed to get this through [:)]

Peace, Paul!                *smile*                       Thank you for "bumping" this one .....

Once it crosses the line, I think there's a really good chance that it may go as low as $11.00 for this 3 volume illustrated Harper and Row book!                 ...   by Friday Noon Bellingham time ......

I'd love to own it, and even the higher price right now is well worth it...

Hey guys... quick question... I often see someone saying "only a few more bids needed to get thisr..." and so forth? How can you tell? Can someone provide a link so I can see what you mean?

    Thanks! [:D]

Hi Carmen.  If you look at the resource page for this book on Community Pricing - http://www.logos.com/product/26753/the-land-and-the-book - you'll see a small graph which charts the progress of this book through Community Pricing:

You'll see that the number of bids at £12 ($18, I think) has very nearly reached the 100% line.

When a few more people enter bids at £12 it will cross the 100% threshold and then enter production.  In Community Pricing, when you see a resource get this close to 100%, generally it will only take a handful of bids to "push it over the line."

None of us know the exact number of bids still needed to get this resource into production (since Logos doesn't disclose what it costs them to incorporate this book into the Logos environment) - we're generally speaking on the basis of "guess-timates"! [:)]

Do you really want this to go over on a Tuesday? If I were you I'd wait until noon PST tomorrow before I pushed any more. In fact, if my bid was at $18, I'd lower it, to try to prevent it from going over before then.

Peace, fgh!           *smile*                     You are "correct," of course!

So .....          if it slips over 100%, can we bid -- for example -- change our bid $2.00 (or the like) and it might then come back under 100%   --     until we're past that time "deadline"???

Wow!      Talk about "fine-tuning".........                However, a dollar is a dollar, eh???

I'm far from sure that would work, plus it would cause an awful lot of confusion, since the e-mails go out automatically. The lowering should be done before it goes over.

Oops. This product crossed the line hours before the cut off point that would have given us an extra week to get the price down... Seriously, thanks everyone for getting this over the line. [Y]

There's still an opportunity to get it for $16 if a few more bidders join the party! [:)]

We can at least get this down to $16.

Indeed - the top of the $16 ball is already touching the 100% line! [:D]

I'm far from sure I'm willing to raise that much, so now I'll probably lose out.[:(]

This is now down to $16.  It would be great to drop it to $14, but we need quite a few more bidders for that to happen.
