Orthodox essentials
I quote the following here from another thread because I think it's easier to keep track of progress within this section of the forums:
Thanks for the reply Gabe.
I was thinking about how I was convinced of the value of Logos (before Verbum was introduced). As a bible software, there are many others so that was not the deciding factor. For me the availability of Catholic resources did it for me. Essential to me at first were the Catechism, the Church Fathers and Council documents. (I'm still waiting on the GIRM and the breviary).
The following list of essentials for the Orthodox as well as the eastern Catholic rites is a start :
Liturgical books:
- Euchologion
- Horologion
- Oktoechos
- Common, monthly and feast day menaions
- The Lenten Triodion, the Pentecostarion, the Eirmologion, and the Typicon
Orthodox lectionary(ies)
Collected Akathists
You seem to be thinking exactly what I've been thinking all along.
There are a lot of hurdles when it comes to getting rights to these works (in English), but I'm working hard as I can to get all of these in the Logos ecosystem.
I can say that a few of these will be on CP in the near future.
Okay, no more secrets. Ya'll will just have to get back to guessing. (I said "ya'll," so now you know I'm from the south)
In addition to the above, the following can also be considered essentials:

Philokalia is being actively pursued (in English, that is).
Sayings of the Desert Fathers will be listed on CP soon (a few different versions, I believe).
Book of Enoch in English: http://www.logos.com/product/5221/the-book-of-enoch
Several volumes (such as Hapgood's service book) are comparable to Nassar in this set: http://www.logos.com/product/32813/hymns-liturgies-and-service-books-of-the-orthodox-church
Looking into the others, as well. Can't say much more at this point, but keep your eyes on the Community Pricing and Pre-Pub pages for new releases each week!

Hello,
Does anyone know of an Orthodox Lectionary that will be done for Logos as well? I think that would be valuable addition.

Gabe, when you get the Ladder of Divine Ascent don't forget the reading cycle/lectionary for the traditional reading of it during Lent.
Also, are you looking into the Coptic Orthodox materials? There are commentaries freely available on the web that would be a great addition to Logos.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

We can have that created once the Paulist edition is funded and live. That shouldn't be an issue.
I've been in touch with people in Alexandria and elsewhere. There's some challenges I'm working through, but we hope to add more Oriental and Coptic resources as time goes on.
