What Adventist products do you want? (Tell me ASAP.)

Logos, you may know, has developed a unique system of indexing books that allows thousands of them to be searched at one time for highly nuanced results in relation to any scriptural reference or topic. It’s amazing, as many of you know. Now the door is wide open for us Adventists to get whatever resources we want into the stable of Logos products. My first priority is to arrange for Logos to connect with Adventist publishers to co-publish existing Adventist books (including out-of-print books) so you can have them in Logos’ searchable format.
On Monday morning (tomorrow) I’m supposed to turn in a wish list of your favorite books published by the Review & Herald. So help me out by telling me what you want. List the full title of the book and also the author’s name, if you have that. And if you can include a link to any website where that book is sold, it will ensure that I'l know the exact book you want. I’ll then take your most requested Adventist books and prioritize the list accordingly.
Please post your book/author/link as a reply to this message.
(If you are reading this past Monday morning June 17, still give me your list—for a book by any Adventist publisher—and I’ll see what I can do.)

This is my #1 priority, Mike, and I had numerous conversations about this last week. It would be wonderful to get Ellen White's writings fully indexed in the unique Logos format. Right now they are tagged only to the EGW Index and the Supplementary Index.

Affordability is important. One way to facilitate that is to bundle these resources into various thematic collections that will be available at great discounts.

Martin, as soon as the rest of them are released in 2015, get them into Logos, probably as an upgrade. James Nix will be here next weekend, will discuss with him the options.

It's great with all the Andrews U Press books coming to Logos. What I really want the most are the Andrews University Seminary Studies (AUSS) and Journal of the Adventist Theological Society (JATS) journals. I have most volumes in print, but they take up a LOT of shelf space, and searching for a topic or a passage treated in an article takes a lot of manual time. Bring the Logos power to these Adventist academic journals!
Reimar Vetne0 -
A second source of materials might be some of the various Dissertations from Andrews University. I remember Richard M. Davidson wrote and excellent one on typology. I've even seen it cited in recent works (I'm thinking of Jesus: a Theography by Frank Viola and Leonard Sweet its available in Vyrso). It would be great to have some of these books in Logos.

Made this request of the Seminary before, but nothing came out of it. Hopefully they will think differently this time.

The Conditionalist Faith of Our Fathers by LeRoy Edwin Froom - seems to be out of print. There is a DjVu copy on the SDA Archives. http://docs.adventistarchives.org//documents.asp?q=documents.asp&CatID=17
Whether R & H would release it royalty free to reduce price would be nice but doubtful. I would anticipate possibly wider interest in this than just SDAs.

The Sabbath in Scripture and History - editor Kenneth Strand R&H pub 1982
Any thoughts against this Lyndon?
I see it as important that we have a selection of well written books covering out distinctive beliefs not only for SDAs but so that non-SDAs can have access to well written source information they can make informed decisions.
If there are differences of opinion within them so much the better - every healthy denomination has that! Even dirty washing does not improve by being locked up in the hope that no one will notice!

Completely agree with you. If is the same quality as the study bible comments I wold hope that it will be produced digitally anyway to enable it to be fully portable and accessible for members in church so Logos should be one of the digital formats!!0 -

Bible Amplifier Series (also out of print, I believe)
Printed sermon series by SDA Preachers - HMS Richards, CD Brooks, Mark Finley, others?
BTW, I saw the ABC had a sale on the Adventist Commentary stuff for like $25 and I think it included all the EGW Stuff as well. This is on CD-ROM and is how I originally got into LOGOS, so I'm sure it's still compatible.

But only after he adds the footnotes of where he got all the quotes - as is the book does not meet professional standards.
Edit: on second thought I would prefer that this work had never seen the light of day. [and in what Faith Life group can we discuss this?]

David Ames,
You might want to re-read the title of the forum section, "What Adventist products do you want?" This is the section for you to list the books you would purchase from Logos if they were available.
I don't believe this is the forum section to discuss books you wouldn't buy and why you wouldn't buy them. You might want to start another section entitled "David Ames' Index Logos Prohibitorum." Perhaps Logos could even hire you to determine which books they should sell and which books they need to stop selling.

Question: If a friend asked you 'what would you like to drink?' would it be OK to answer 'I don't want anything that is alcoholic'. ? IMHO I think negative answers count.

When i first started with logos then libronix, I got a cd about the "geoscience Research Institute: Origins Library" I do not see that on sale anymore, even though some things still works in my logos 5
what about the "daniel and Revelation committee series" in 7volumes?

Edwin, the Origin series was developed by the Geo Science Research Institute. they never updated the product, and now they do will not make the Journal available for mobile use.
If you have any contacts with them, use your influence to persuade them to make the rest of the journals available in Logos, and for mobile use.

Just saw this
In early July Oxford University Press announced that it would publish a new biography of Ellen Gould Harmon White. In 18 chapters prepared by 20 authors Ellen Harmon White: American Prophet examines her ideas and the impact she has made on the Seventh-day Adventist church and American religion generally....
“Taken together, these chapters show how White was both a product and a producer of her age,” said Grant Wacker, professor of Christian history at Duke University, in the book’s foreword. “They also show that however one judges the role of supernatural inspiration, White ranked as one of the most gifted and influential religious leaders in American history, male or female. Ellen Harmon White: American Prophet tells her story in a new and remarkably informative way.”
Would be nice to have this book available.

Thanks David, seems interesting. I guess while it may not be by an Adventist author, it speaks about things important to Adventist.
This raises another question: What material should be listed under the Adventist umbrella?
1. Only those written by Seventh-day Adventist
2. Material coming from our press
3. Anything about Adventist.
For products that will be listed on the Logos page and marked as Adventist, I favour the first two.

The Adventist Church is divided into 13 divisions. Each one has one or more printing presses.
The list is a bit outdated, but it gives you an idea. It does not list Pacific Press or Review and Herald, (both in the United States).
