From Conflict to Communion -- new joint Lutheran/Catholic document presented today
"From Conflict to Communion: that’s how Lutherans and Catholics are describing their ecumenical journey of the past 50 years, as they look ahead together to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017.
From Conflict to Communion is the name of a joint document from the Lutheran-Roman Catholic International Commission on Unity which was presented at a press conference on Monday at the Lutheran World Federation headquarters in Geneva. The lengthy text looks at the joint responsibility for the division of the Western Church in the 16th century, addressing the challenges of healing those memories and working together for reconciliation and common witness to the world.
Topics explored in the document include basic themes of Martin Luther’s theology with a view to Lutheran–Catholic dialogue, as well as focusing on five ecumenical imperatives for the relationship between both Churches as they commemorate 2017 together. (...)
The full text of the document ‘From Conflict to Communion’ is available from the German Evangelische Verlangsanstalt and Bonifatius publishing house."

Thanks for pointing this document out. Amazon is already claiming to be temporarily sold out. It is unusual that it's not available off the Vatican site.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

You mean I learnt about this on the Vatican website, and you learnt about it on the Lutheran forum?[:D]

But the Lutherans have it: http://www.lutheranworld.org/sites/default/files/From%20Conflict%20to%20Communion.pdf
For those who read German, the press statement of VELKD (the organisation of Lutheran churches within Germany) may be interesting. Bishop Weber gives a detalied overview of the document and writes "Wie in keinem ökumenischen Dokument bislang konnte so die Theologie Luthers in ihrer Breite gemeinsam dargestellt werden." (in this document Luther's theology has been presented in a comprehensive manner as in no other ecumenical document before).
Have joy in the Lord!
