BUG 5.1 RC 2: Search is including proximity term between parenthetical expressions

Follow-up to thread => Resources comparing the use of "alpha and omega" to "the first and the last" found basic search for:

(Alpha NEAR Omega) WITHIN 14 WORDS ( (Beginning, First) NEAR (End, Last) )

includes proximity WORD specifier in search results:

You can't mix parentheses and proximity operators like that, so Logos isn't recognising the WITHIN xx WORDS part of the query as an operator. You should rewrite the query something like one of the following:

Alpha NEAR Omega NEAR (Beginning, First) NEAR (End, Last)
Alpha WITHIN 2 WORDS Omega WITHIN 14 WORDS (Beginning, first) WITHIN 3 WORDS (End, last)

But for some reason, you can't combine a WITHIN with two NEAR's (one WITHIN and one NEAR is fine, and three WITHINs or three NEARs are also fine). I can't explain that.

I had no doubts that the search operators would not be in the search results. I thought you meant that the operators were not proximity search operators. It was such an ambiguous statement.
