When uploading an audio or video file to be synced on another computer I understand that the file is converted to a particular format on your servers and is then downloaded on the other computers. However, I have noticed quite a bit of quality degradation. I am a bit of an audiophile when it comes to the videos I show at church (just wanting them to not sound like they are recorded in a tin can). This has happened with mp3 files as well. Is there a reason (other than space issues) that you resample the video and audio files and, aside from using local files, is there a format that Proclaim prefers that doesn't get resampled?
Let me give you an example. We used video files from Lifeway's "Colossal Coaster World" during VBS this year. I resampled those videos from the full HD format to reduce the size. However, those videos never lost quality that was noticeable on my computer. However, once I uploaded them to Proclaim and synced, after they were resampled by the Proclaim computer, they sounded very compressed and digital and they were sometimes hard to understand once played on our church's system. Hope this makes sense. Can you give me some guidance as to how to prevent this from happening? We need audio and video that sound good. I'm not asking for perfect audio, but something of better quality than what happens when we upload videos. Right now the best workaround is to use local files on the computer and transfer them with a flash drive or over a network. Is there a better solution? Thanks for your time!
