Proclaim Remote from a PC or Mac

Hello Proclaim Forum community!  I am somewhat new to proclaim, and one of the biggest drawbacks I assumed would be a feature when we signed on is the option to Remote from a different PC than the host.  I am excited to say that I found a solution/workaround.  It requires some setup, but it works seamlessly (so far).  This setup uses an Android Virtual Machine(s), so it is like you have a Android Tablet running on your PC.  I suggest installing, testing and playing with the Virtual Machine some before you use this live in a service.

Setup Instructions for PC/Mac Remote(s):

  1. On the desired remote host PC/Mac select the appropriate version, download and install VirtualBox by Oracle from here.
  2. Download the Android Virtual Machine from AndroVM's download page here.  NOTE: for the easiest setup with largest resolution use "vbox86tp version with gapps & houdini & flash."
  3. Once the download completes open the downloaded AndroVM file and it will import into VirtualBox.
  4. After import, start your AndroVM (You can start it in the future by running VirtualBox).
  5. Go through the setup steps and connect your new virtual "droid tablet" to a Google account, or setup a new Google account.
  6. For better screen resolutions open the App called "androVM Configuration" and select a different resolution from the drop down.  Then save. 
  7. Open the Play Store app and type Proclaim and select the app when it comes up.
  8. Click Install
  9. Click Open
  10. Type in your Logos.com Email and Password
  11. Sign in

NOTE: The zoom feature does not work well with Proclaim, it should by default "stretch to fill screen" which is set by clicking the 4 arrows next to the clock.

There you have it!  I've been able to set this up on two different devices and run Proclaim with these Virtual Remote's successfully.  Currently I can have two remotes controlling the presentation at the same time, I have not tested with three, but this is a somewhat simple fix to this draw back.
