Good morning, everyone. We were apparently still having issues with the web store yesterday afternoon, and some were seeing $0.00 on this set, among other issues. Hopefully they are resolved now. If not, please let me know so we can have someone correct them (I barely know CSS, so I'm not the man for the job!). Smile

I have adjusted the price on this set. I believe that this is a more appropriate price point, and I thank everyone who provided feedback on this bundle yesterday. My only goal is to provide a quick-start set for the Fathers for someone not interested in Schaff and relatively new to Logos (and also mostly interested in fathers that are relevant to Orthodoxy). I hope this accomplishes that goal.

Purchased individually, these volumes would cost $826 and change. The introductory price is $259.95 (through next Friday, Aug. 16), and will then increase to a regular price of $329.95.

Thank you for your patience, and thank you for your feedback on site issues, etc., as always! Yes

The website is showing $213.64. Even better than what Gabe said. That is a forty six dollars difference.

There is dynamic pricing (which caused the issues yesterday and over the weekend), so it will vary from user-to-user (depending on which volumes you own). Please let me know if you see any issues with this! [:)]

Ok. I have the two volumes by J. B. Lightfoot. That explains it.

What is missing is that it does not show what we already have / what we will gain [bought it anyway]

You're right, that would be a great feature. Hopefully that's something we can roll-out eventually.

I already have the ECF in both Protestant and Catholic sets. I am wondering what is new to this set that is not included in those. I guess I will have to go through them all unless someone can tell me. I get a dynamic pricing quote of $62 but I don't know what it includes. Any help before I begin looking up each title?

In short, these are all different translations from what is found in Schaff's edition, along with some volumes not included in Schaff.

For example, select works of Bede, Dionysius the Areopagite, several original Greek editions of Justin Martyr and Latin editions of Augustine, works on St. Patrick and his life, the Philocalia of Origen, some additional works from St. Ephraim the Syrian, additional works from St. Cyril of Alexandria, some works and sayings of the Desert Fathers, a few monastic Rules (Pachomius and Benedict), some additional material on Chrysostom and his preaching, as well as the Greek editions of the apostolic fathers.

I got a price of $16.33. This seems incredible, but I do already have ECF, Bede, Benedict's Holy RuleCyril, DionysiusEarly Egyptian MonasticismGreek Ecclesiastical Historians, Justin MartyrMedieval Preaching & Spirituality (which has some overlap), Origen's Philocalia, and perhaps more. So I guess it's not surprising. But way cool! I love dynamic pricing!

I believe that this is a more appropriate price point

    So do I.[:)]

And now my button is grey as well.[:)]

If I may give one more piece of feedback, it would be that the little yellow 'Introductory pricing' box ought to be before the rest of the text. It needs to be visible without scrolling, or even when you're on a search page rather than the product page, or people may not see it before it's too late.

What is missing is that it does not show what we already have / what we will gain [bought it anyway]

You're right, that would be a great feature. Hopefully that's something we can roll-out eventually.

What would be very useful would be something like a button next to each individual resource in a collection, but serving two purposes:

    1. Its colour would show if you owned that particular resource or not.
    2. If you clicked on it, you'd be taken to the individual product page for that resource.

Currently it's very easy to go from a resource to a collection, but very complicated to go from a collection to the individual resources (you generally have to search for them one by one, which takes forever). And if, for example, you want three books in a collection of ten, and want to check out if the collection is nevertheless the better buy, then you do need to go from the collection page to the individual pages.

Thanks for the answers. I have determined this is a pretty good price for what new resources I would get. I assume the dynamic price goes up when the package price goes up.

Peace to my Sisters and Brothers!                              Gabe, thanks much for your diligence and hard and very thorough labours.    The more I know you ...  the more I appreciate you ...

Rosie, I often need strength and Wisdom from the Holy Spirit of God to keep me from being jealous over some of the wonderful purchases that you've made from Logos over the years in which you shared the nitty-gritty of your experiences .........            your posts have been indeed helpful ....

Today I'm a bit shocked that finally I got a better price on a deal than Rosie did ...!!!                Wow, eh???              *smile*

Mine was the same as Milford's.

I paid $15.19, which consisted of just The Major Works of Justin Martyr in Greek (3 vols.).

However, that set usually goes for $59.95. Thus I got it for about 75% off.

Peace, Mike!                       I grant you indeed that I have a tremendously extensive Logos Resources Library....

When I retired from Parish Ministry a few years ago, I donated my print library to one of our Church's Seminaries, even getting an income tax receipt (for "gifts in kind") from the institution recognised by Revenue Canada .....

So, I got a boost on my income tax ...              meanwhile, I love to continue studying God's Word .....

Next to my family and my Christian Family in the congregation, my studies are the most important aspect of my life ..

I started my Logos Bible Software in the Spring of 1993 ..  over 20 years ago!!!       .........  my memory is a bit foggy ...    I think it was Logos1.6 -  I do know for sure I had the Logos 2.0 Scholars back around then or a little later  (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_2.0_Scholars_Library)     (I was privileged to have had 9 years of studies for Pastoral Ministry after public high school .... so I've had language and theological training of all sorts!         *smile*

I got on to Community Pricing early on also ....             It's really quite sad for new Logos Bible Software users that so many of the great bargains are now gone, even though Community Pricing is booming!        *smile*

Note:             I am also regarding my Logos Library as an asset to be left behind properly when the Lord calls me Home!  *smile*

My daughter who will be the Administrator of my Estate has already been advised not to neglect the value of my digital library..    *smile*

BTW, if Jesus comes sooner than than, well be it!               *smile*

Dynamic Pricing - Not sure how much credit you get for something you own but it does help pay for the upgrade - sometimes

Hmmmmm. That's strange. No, I didn't get an academic price. Not sure why there was a difference.

Did your Logos download just two new resources once you bought it? That's what mine did. Even though the Justin Martyr collection is 3 volumes, I believe it comes in as just 2 resources.

Peace!                           .........      and it's very difficult indeed in Dialogue with Trypho to see where one volume ends and the other begins ....   .... not that it matters a lot, eh???       *smile*                                     Just for the sake of "neatness" I think it could have been better "marked" ...
