How do you add favorites on the iPad version?

I have searched the other post and nothing on favorites and that is why I started this one. Can anyone with any who has successfully added a favorite in the iPad version please share how you did it? I have tried highlighting a verse no add to favorite. The go keeps a history of what you search for and you can choose the pin and that keeps it in the top of the go ie search.

Tap lightly on the text to bring up the reference bar at the top of the screen. Tap on the square with an arrow icon. Tap on Add to Favorites.

All Favorites added end up in a folder called Vyrso Favorites. Favorites are accessed through the star icon.
