Logos Partners: a suggestion

I feel a little sad sometimes when I look at some of the stagnant CPs. What can I do, I ask myself, to help push some of these resources to production. As an example, I really want the Catholic Encyclopedia in my library now! I'm sure many of you feel the same about many of the other CPs as well.
Why can't I, for example, fund the project from my own pocket? I would donate if Logos is a non-for-profit organization, but, alas, it's not. So what is the for-profit equivalent? Couldn't Logos for example allow individuals (or seminaries, or churches, ... -fill in the blank-) to partner by providing finances that help produce a Logos publication of a work while out of copyright doesn't have enough supporters to make it through the community pricing stage? I for one would be willing to do that.
I would bear the losses if the resource fails to sell later, thus allowing Logos to avoid the risk completely, but would also want to share in the profit, if it actually eventually turns out to be profitable on the long run. Is this something doable?

Not without major headaches. When dealing with speculative investments rather than non-profits the whole thing falls under the purview of the Securities and Exchange Commission. I doubt Logos would find it worth their while.

Here are some other CP strategies we talked about previously. I'd love it if Logos would innovate on CP a little:

What if they would create a separate not-for-profit corporation that would fund the texts and open source them for the public and then leave the software itself firmly in the for-profit column?

The software is free. The content is where Logos makes its money.I imagine Logos makes a healthy profit on public domain resources. Maybe they could see their way to bundling Community Pricing resources. Then the popular ones would carry the weaker ones into production.

Bite your tongue! [:D] Don't force us to pay more for what we DO want just so that some can get what we DON'T want.
