As many of you know, the verse of the day images that now appear on the Logos home page are taken from biblia.com. I've just updated the Wiki page that tries to archive all these images, so if you'd like to download some or all of the images for your desktop wallpaper (they're all available at 1920x1080), that is now easy to do. There are now a total of 669 images, of which 44 have been added since I last updated the page in April. Here's a small sample of new images:

    Dear Mark,

You are a ROCKSTAR (in a totally non-threatening, non-secular, and positive way)!  Thank you, sir.

why is their file name not in .png when we open them?

How could we open them automatically with Windows Picture Viewer?

From the Wiki Page, you can right-click on a small picture and choose Save Target as. That will save the wallpaper as a .png file. In other browsers it's called Save link as. If you wanted to download all the full resolution images, you could use software such as http://www.downthemall.net/

That's great Mark, many thanks!  I had started to manually download them each day from Logos' facebook feed, and store them in evernote, however I was quickly going over my free allowance each month due to the size of each file, so gave up.  It's great having them all in one place. [Y][Y][Y]

EDIT - It's great they're in canonical order too, rather than chronological to the date Logos publishes them - very helpful for searching through them. [:)]

That's actually what I already did..

But my question is why all these images doesn't have a defined "file name" .. whenever I tried to open them, it ask me to open with a choice of program rather than automatically with Windows Picture Viewer. So I had to manually assign each pictures to be opened with Windows Picture Viewer, because the file name of each picture is define by the last number of the verse and NOT .png.

no biggie, but I'm just wondering if there's an easier solution to save them automatically to .PNG instead.

    Thanks mark

Oh, I see. I just use the filenames that Biblia defaults to, but upon investigation, I can see that I can just specify the extension. I've edited the WikiPage now, so it uses proper extensions. If you use downloadthemall now, it should save everything correctly.

If you want to rename all the files you have already downloaded, try this: http://www.brothersoft.com/extension-renamer-download-41537.html

Just in case it helps anyone out there, I thought I would mention http://biblescreen.com/ offers a live video stream of the verse of the day images and also offers a download of all the verse of the day images for use within digital frames, etc.

even worse, some companies still harvest our information even though we paid for the service...

I'll redownload the new files, thanks Mark

    Thank you, Alan,

If I'm seeing it correctly, the biblescreen.com site doesn't feature a download of the images, but does provide a link to follow a "Bible Screen" Faithlife group that has the images available to download in the "documents" tab for that group.  That tab has zip files available for download, each containing the images at a given resolution.  It appears that none of the zip files contains the images at 1920x1080, however.  Only smaller versions are available there.  Two questions:

    1) Is there a place to download the images directly from the biblescreen.com site, or just the referral link to the Faithlife group?

    2) Are the 1920x1080 images available for download on the biblescreen.com site and/or will 1920x1080 versions be available for download soon from the Bible Screen Faithlife group site?

Thank you for all of your help.

    Thanks so much!

  • This is an amazing resource. Thank you for compiling it, brother! In my opinion, the watermark becomes a distraction in many of the pictures, especially if you are putting it on a big screen. Technically, logos users own these images and have paid for them. The ones we download separately do not have the mark, but goodness 1380 is going to take a long time.

    Hello Mark,

Thank you for the Wiki page! I've come back to it many times in recent years. Do you know where to find the better resolution (3840 x 2160) and the format 4:3 (2048 x 1536)? I am German (please excuse my bad English) and I would love to use these wallpapers in German. Is there any other way to download the german wallpapers than downloading them from the Logos Bible Software individually?

    Thank you!

Trying to track down these images in 2024... My Faithlife roku app seems to be using these same images for the screensaver function. There are some that I'd like to reference later. Is there an active link to the wiki page archive you created (the link is broken)? Or is there another way to access the images now tha Biblescreen is defunct?

The wiki has been migrated to this site and the page Mark Barnes made is still there, now at: https://community.logos.com/kb/articles/552-biblia-verse-of-the-day-images?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=biblia

(link may be inactive since the forum's gateway timed out, but it's the first hit when you use the forum search for "biblia")

Hi Kevin, thanks for your thoughts. Call me un-techy but it seems the glitches are increasing. That link you provided, it just loops right back here. 🤔 Also the search for "Biblia" brings up a link that has a "Gateway" problem too (or still?)

Oh well, its not a big deal. Thanks anyway!
