Bug: Logos 5 Opens Partially Off-Screen (OS X) - solved

Greetings,

I'm using Logos 5 on Mac, and every time I open up the program the primary window is most of the way off screen (see image below).  Is there a way I can program it so that it will always open up in the manner I would prefer?  Dragging it every time I open it up seems unnecessary, and I'm not having to do that with any other application I'm using.  thanks.

    You have an interesting problem. Many of us have experienced a "small box syndrome," but I think this is different. Can you enable and post logs? See my signature line.

    I've followed the steps in your signature.  Let me know what you'd like me to do with the log file.

    Note: I'm using a MPBr, clean Mavericks install upon its release.  As I noted, other apps are not opening in this manor.  Strange.

    Nevermind...here's the attachment.  Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide.

    Good job posting the logs. As for insight... I am only half techie, and think I will have to sit this one out. I am interested to see what Logos might say about it. Can you amend your subject line for this thread with the prefix BUG: ?

    [quote]07:57:21  Setting window placement: {2, 0, 1044, 723} | frame: {{2, 55}, {1044, 723}} | state: 0 | frame: {{2, 55}, {1044, 723}}

    07:57:22  Setting window placement: {792, 0, 1044, 870} | frame: {{792, -92}, {1044, 870}} | state: 0 | frame: {{792, 55}, {1044, 723}}

    So looking through your Console Message log (sadly there was no Logos.log file - double check alabama's steps?) there are a lot of these pairs of window placement messages. The bolded numbers are the horizontal position. I'm not 100% sure why, but it is setting the position near the left border (2) and then one second later setting it back to the right (792). My best guess would be that the first placement is your normal saved window, and the second is the placement of a saved layout that you open to. It loads the basic window, then loads the layout.

    To figure out why, we will probably need more context:

    • What layout are you opening the program to?
      • For example, if I save a named layout while the window is offscreen, it will place the window offscreen every time I load it.
      • Check your saved layouts and reposition/save them if they have this offscreen behavior.
    • Do you have any apps that affect your screen, or have the Macbook hooked up to an external display? I don't know strictly what these mean, but I see a lot of these errors:
      • 2013-11-21 10:34:29 WindowServer[85] <Warning>: Received display connect changed for display 0x4280380
    • Making sure logging is properly enabled will help give some context as to what Logos is doing when this is changed.
    • Also, please let me know what version of Mac OS you have, and what version of Logos you are using. The most recent is 5.2 SR-1.

    Thanks for your help...

    I'm opening to a layout I've simply titled "Bible Study". However, this problem occurs whether I'm opening to a layout or the homepage.  And no, I'm not using an external monitor...so I really don't know why that particular error would be there.

    Logos/ OS X Mavericks, all fully up to date.

    Correction, I re-saved the layout and it seems to have solved the problem.  Nice!

    I'll let you know if I run into it again or not.
