I agree that there's been a significant price-hike. But there are a lot of new volumes, not a few. I counted 581 new resources in the Master Bundle, which is one third of the total.
More importantly, remember there's dynamic pricing, so you're getting a discount on what you already own. If the own a lot of the old bundles, and not much of the new bundles, it will make the price rise appear more significant. To take it to its extreme, my price on the old bundles was $0, and now it's shot up to $2,136, a rise of infinite percent!

Mine on the Catholic Studies XL bundle went up to $10.11, also a rise of infinite percent .... they made a sale just because I was curious what they'd added that I didn't have.

fgh,
that's funny that your X-Large price is cheaper than your Medium's.. lol

That should, of course, be $0 for the Medium Bundle as well.
I've got the same problem, on that bundle only. I think the rest are OK.
It's worth nothing that the bundles page (https://www.logos.com/bundles) says that the price includes a 50% discount for Christmas only (normally you only get the 50% discount if you buy a base package, or if you're a Portfolio owner).

You've missed the point entirely. This is a sale. It's an introductory 50% off sale. The price will go up later, not down.

$549 for WBC on day 1 of 12 days of Christmas is pretty high as well, considering I have seen it as low as $399. OK, not every sale needs to be as deep and things go up in price, but wow... glad I already have this.

you're right, but not if someone already has portfolio, which 50% is a daily price. [;)]

I have seen it around $289, though that was 3rd party. Might have been a volume or two less as well. On the other hand, the cheapest I saw was Australian dollars, and they're cheaper in themselves.

Which raises the question why Portfolio owners get that, but not Capstone owners. Seems like discrimination against Catholics to me.[:P]
Do Portfolio owners also get the other 'Customize' prices at any time?

I thought my dynamic pricing would be lowered as a result of this sale but its the same [:(]

Because Portfolio is twice the price of Capstone! Pricewise, Capstone is closed to Platinum. Even Diamond is $1,000 more than Capstone, and they don't get the deal.

You won't be able to buy it anyway. The Catholic Bundle is limited to US/Canada because it includes the Catechism.

Really? That's a shame. There should, at least, be an 'international' version without the Catechism.Mark Barnes said:You won't be able to buy it anyway. The Catholic Bundle is limited to US/Canada because it includes the Catechism
However if I remember correctly fgh already owns the Catechism, so she should be OK.

You're right. [:)] I've mainly looked at my own prices, so I didn't realize it was that much difference. Still, it is the largest package available to us...[:D] Doesn't matter much in real life, though, as the bundles are far too Protestant to be interesting.

I already have the Catechism. I had no problem adding it to the cart. I didn't try any further, but if it doesn't work, a sales rep should be able to fix it.
I was wrong about the content, however: there's a Scott Hahn book in there as well that I don't have. I guess that probably settles it.

I was able to add it to my cart, but I couldn't checkout (despite already owning the catechism). However, my sales rep did fix it once the sun rose on Bellingham.

It tells you what is added in v2 at the top of the page. What's carried over from v1 is listed below.

The only thing in the bundle that I hadn't already purchased was Modern Catholic Social Teachings: Commentaries and Interpretations

Don't forget to talk to your customer sales rep about whether your dynamic price on the web page is actually the best deal available to you.

If I am not mistaken the Word Biblical Commentary is now owned by Zondervan.
Zondervan is not known for fire sale pricing of it's publications.

I think though when it was this low there was less volumes available so an expectation for it to reach that low again now with extra volumes might be stretching it too much.

This is a tip for all those considering to purchase the WBC for $550:
Consider calling sales and enquiring about a discount on the Nelson Bible Reference Bundle (200 vols.). It includes the WBC and is listed at $900 but you are most likely going to get a huge discount for that from sales (it has been discounted for a long time) which would get you very close to the listed discounted price for WBC alone (I know that because that's what I did). This would be a much better deal I think.
It maybe possible too if you have a few of the books in the bundle that they reduce the price even more (akin to dynamic pricing)

I had thought of that. I may try.
Also, I wasn't aware that volumes had been added since last fall, but that may be another factor to consider. I'm not trying to beat up Logos on the pricing or anything, but the reality is I only have a limited amount of money to spend so I want to get the most I can for it. So if they are going to offer it cheaper on sale at some point, then I want to wait them out.

If you own Portfolio you get 50% off your dynamic pricing. My sales rep gave me a $2000 Master Bundle for $1000 and it added 610 volumes to my collection. $1.30 a volume is insanely cheap.

No actually I got another 50% off my dynamic pricing. My 50% off dynamic pricing was $2000. My portfolio discount was another 50% off that making it only $1000, on a payment plan of course.

David,
Did your sales rep tell you about the 50% off the dynamic pricing because you owed Portfolio, or did you read it somewhere and have to tell the sales rep about it?

David Kirk, so did I in the turn of the month! My upgrade path has been: tiny "Swedish" Library from late L2 or early L3 days -> OLL, L4 Catholic Foundations (similar to the old Verbum Basic, included the Catechism even for international customers) -> L5 Bronze and L5 Basic introductory period, gave away Catholic Foundations with license transfer (which I paid) to someone living on a disability income and I no longer have the Catechism nor do I want it, Basic showed up again without cost -> Verbum Foundations+. This was the first time ever I bought a Topical Bundle, and it was one day before version 2 of the Topical Bundles were released. Perhaps this applied only applied to that upgrade that day (December 3., one day after my birthday)?
See: Unix's recent purchases, including upgrade DVD:David Kirk Davis said:No actually I got another 50% off my dynamic pricing. My 50% off dynamic pricing
When I yesterday looked at what books I will need for the university classes, I saw that one was in a Topical Bundle: the old Old Testament Medium bundle. But I would not have needed any of the other books, so ... no regrets. Maybe it will become available for individual purchase by the time I take the class. There's no Topical Bundles I want, nor were there when the old ones were around except the only one I bought (size: Small).

Just to be clear about the bundles.
- Dynamic pricing is available to everyone. The amount of discount is proportional to how much of the bundle you already own. So, for example, David Kirk Davies presumably owns about half of the contents (by value), and therefore gets a 50% dynamic pricing discount.
- In addition to this discount, there is an additional 50% discount available. It's available to anyone who purchases a base package at the same time they purchase a bundle. It also available to Portfolio owners at any time. But currently, for December only, it's been widened to be available to everyone.
So although owning Portfolio makes it easier to get the 50% discount, it doesn't give you a discount you can't get elsewhere.
