Hello all -
We are recent subscribers, and are getting ready to begin training our crew on Proclaim. We have run into a situation that we could use some help in.
Because our faith tradition sings most songs a capella, we often have powerpoint slides made up with notes for the songs. Traditionally, we have been showing these songs on screen, and our church has really enjoyed seeing the notes.
To give an idea, a simple hymn might have a setup as follows:
Verse 1 - Slides 1 and 2
Verse 2 - Slides 3 and 4
Verse 3 - Slides 5 and 6.
In Proclaim, the song engine is primarily a text-based option, so we plan to use the powerpoint import feature to bring these in. We really like the "reuse content" option as that functions as a library of songs we have sung.
The difficulty we have run into at this point has to do with the need to reuse power points but to use different verses on different Sundays. Say Dec. 1 we were to use V. 1 and 3, and then Dec. 15 we were to use v. 1 and 2. Currently, if I have deleted verse 2 in the first order, it keeps it deleted for the database file as well.
Is there a better way to do this? I am new so I perfectly understand there may be options I am not aware of.
If not, could I make a few suggestions? Either have the per-song edits non-destructive to the import, or add an option within the software to "Hide" slides in .ppt files.
I could see how this also might be useful if I am a preacher at multiple services and I have some slides I want to share in one environment but others in another... Or if I were running announcement loops and needed to quickly hide one for whatever reason...
Thank you for all you do. Our team is excited about the cloud-based potential of this software.
Sincerely,
John Dykes
