I had all kinds of videos and audios in Libronix that don't seem to be in Logos 5. Are we ever going to get these resources back in the program? This seems like a loss of previously owned resources.
I sympatize with you James. I have a similar problem. The fault in most cases is with the third party vedors who used Logos software to create the products.
Most never updated their books from using Libronix 2.0 to 3.0. Because of this and other reasons, Logos stopped lisencing their software and now do all the work themselves.
But one additional aspect may be noted: the Libronix videos worked under Windows, presumably requiring the MS Media Player to work.
IIRC, in order to get cross-platform, Logos actively disabled the ability to play such videos in (then) L4 and built a video capability that would be available on both desktop platforms, but which would require some sort of minor rework on existing videos in order to have them play in L4/5. Probably this would entail some intern to open all WMF (or whatever)-coded videos on the server and save them as MPG or whatever.
I think I remember that someone from Logos sort of promised that they would enable the old videos. There was no mentioning of needing third parties.
Many of these video resources have already been rebuilt in Logos 5 format. Can you list (some of) the video titles you're missing, so we can check on their status?
I tried to do a search of my library for media and then video and all I got were the new ones from faith life or the pastorum. I was thinking about those from RC Sproul, J. Venon McGee, MacArthur, ect. If these and others are already available can you tell me how to see them in L5.
Some were audio and some were video. I have a whole list in my old Libronix folder.

Have you tried filtering your library by type:media collection?
Yes. And all I get are photos and the faith life, Pastorum, stuff. None of the old videos.
Here is a small list of old videos I cannot find on L5:
LifePrinciple vides
America's Godly heritage
Ev1.3 Grand Canyon
Ev1.2 Rock Record
The Just Shall Live In Faith
Thanks for the list; I've asked someone to look into this.
Bradley, add the videos from Originsl journal. While you're at it, see it they will consider lisenceing it for mobile use.
R.C. Sproul collection
Logos seems you have forgotten all of the "LifeWorks Collections" that came with audio books or videos! [:D]
It would be nice if these files would download automaticly to our present Logos 5, or are we going to have to wait until Logos 10? [;)]

Thanks for the report James. I'm also curious though, from what resources are the video's/audio playing in Libronix: The old Quick start guides or actual resources?
A bit more information (resources id's or a CD name, or anything else you can give) are required to find these:
I have located The Just Shall Live In Faith (JUSTWALK), but that specific resource make no mention of video/audio. Was it part of a CD you purchaced at some point and if so, would you mind giving the title of the CD?
Thanks!
Yes I'll take a look and see what CDs these came off of. Most of them were Author collection CDs like MacArthur or Sproul, ect.
These are the CDs I just checked and found the audios and Videos. I don't know if other works came with audio and video files but these did.
Below I have provided screen shoots of the resources as they appear on the CDs.
I believe they were accessed through the quick start guides or the home pages that were associated with each CD. So on the Jeremiah home page, for example, it would have a section that accessed the media.
Thanks for the info James.
Any update on this?
Thanks for the follow up. No, nothing yet. This is a really big project, so be prepared to wait.
These older "video products" might have contractual issues preventing us from moving it into the Logos 5 (video streaming vs. disk distribution). The persons tasked with publisher relations knows about these and will follow up. Again, make yourself ready for a really long waiting period for the final word on this issue.
Sorry for not having better news.
I hate to be disparaging, but these files quit working when Logos 4 came out in November 2009. If waiting 4 1/2 years isn't waiting long enough, what does qualify as waiting a long time?
update on the learning Hebrew and Greek video DVDs I purchased these when they first came out
Hello Michael,
I would advice you start a new thread instead, or phone/email Customer Service.
Any news. [:)]
