I have been having a weird problem: After EVERY time I would get an update, L4 would crash and refuse to open (often when I need it for sermon and lesson preparation).

but then the problem would resolve itself in a few hours (sometimes the next day) without me doing anything. At first I thought it was a random glitch, but I have noticed the pattern tied to getting an update.
Unfortunately, because I live literally half-way around the globe, reaching Tech support has been a very frustrating experience - Once I was on hold for 20+ minutes just to be told that tech support was unavailable that day.
Anyway, after trying an ancient method of complete uninstall-reinstall routine, I think I am close to the root of the problem. Actually, right before completely uninstalling L4 I looked at the logs and noticed the last entries containing
"Error OurApp Unhandled exception: System.FormatException: An invalid IP address was specified."
well, with a FRESH reinstall of L4, it crashed IMMEDIATELY after I entered my login and password information.
Unfortunately (but true to my pattern) the tech support is now closed. I have a great new version of the program that does not work, once it gets working I am looking forward to 9+GB download and indexing.
Can anybody provide the reason for the sudden crash and why the problem solves itself. I tried rebooting after the crash and it does not help bringing L4 up - I have to wait several hours.
Can anybody provide the solution to this issue? I run XP Pro SP3 on a 2.5 year old Dell laptop, 2 GB Ram 200GB HD.
Thank you in advance,
Vladimir
