I'd like to build a list to release on New Year's Day ... what your tip for using Logos
examples:
- someone retitle the books in collections to force the order in which they display
- multiple people have learned to count the number of occurrences of a word
- some embed fake PB's in their priority list to recreate subsections
- I've read of some creative uses of favorites
- some set a default rating to indicate they haven't read a book yet

Saving layouts and put most often used items on shortcut bar
One of my favourite tricks is saving layouts for various activities by giving them different names and put the most often used on shortcut bar. Save me lot of time.

* Use myrating:0 to filter new resources in Library; change rating to 2 after checking/changing/creating collection(s) to include new resource(s).
* 2013 follow-up => OT Quotes in NT: follow-up (working on note set with more allusions)
Thankful for Faithlife groups so can share Logos documents: collections, notes, ...

Welcome, Clive! Everyone's just getting started. Logos is immense.
My favorite (which probably is only my favorite) is keeping a search and library panel always open in my main window. Usually near my lexicons, text compare etc. The benefit is that whenever I do a right-click search, Logos always arranges my searches in a nice orderly row (in case I forget). Logos puts the word studies right next to my library tab.
And my library is always just like I left it (I rarely shut down). Smooth and nice.

This may not be t a trick or tip, but after purchasing the Classic Commentaries and Studies Collections, I made a separate section for them in my passage guide so I wouldn't neglect using them.

Me too. 2013 was the year that I got into tagging big time. The problem became quickly is that I wanted more ways to name and manage tags. I believe I can do more to shape my library according to my study needs, but will stick with my current system until I can manage tags more easily.

MJ. I've been thinking about your post for some time and many things come to mind including:
Short cuts to downloading, updating and access to maps and other resources
This past year I also tagged every resource in my library and it made a huge difference for me.
Reorganizing and tagging the books I want to read in specific categories, as well as tagging them as I am reading them and when I finish them.
I also redid all my notes to make them resource specific.
Each of these perhaps are not really earth-shattering but they have significantly improved my Logos experience.

I like the idea that we can have different lists of resources / collections in Cited By that can be saved as part of our Layout.
Some have created different Layouts for different stages of their studies. This can be helpful.
Using Text Comparison has been annoying because there are no scrolling arrows on the menu bar … till I realized I can link it to my main Bible window and as I move up and down in the text of that window, the Text Comparison window responds with it.

I've learned to make my own inductive markings using icons. This was big for me since I'm technically challenged. [:D] (Thanks to the very kind posters on this forum)
Also, saving layouts by name.

I made all my notes and highlighting documents to be resource specific. However, on the iPad it made the highlighting document list a bit long for scrolling to the highlighting note I wanted to highlight in.
This year, I discovered that I could temporarily rename a note document with a symbol or a number and it would always be at the top of the list. When I am done reading the book, I remove the number.
For example, I am presently reading the Works of Jonathan Edwards and the Works of Henry Scougal, so their note/highlight documents have a 0 and a 1 in front so that they appear at the top of the list in the order I want them to.

1. to minimize all items in the passage and exegetical guide after each use and before closing. It is easier to see the complete list in the future.
