Background video wont play on one system, does on another

Hi we are testing Proclaim for a possible purchase to replace Media Shout.

My wife and I have it installed on two different laptops and we are synchronizing content back and forth to test collaboration. Hers is a Windows 7 laptop, mine is a Windows 8 laptop.

She added a motion video background slide. It uploaded and transcoded, but when she goes to play it all she sees is the first frame, as if it were a still jpg file.

After I synchronized, I see the video and it plays fine. She's done this will several files and some work correctly for her and some show as stills. All are working for me.

She can play the videos fine directly in Windows Media Player, they just dont work in Proclaim.

Any advice?

Hello Russell,

Does this happen with all service items or only a certain service item? Also does it only happen with a certain file extension or with all video types? This information will help me find the root cause.

It does not happen with all items. She has loaded several videos (all MP4) for motion backgrounds in songs. When she presents from her laptop some videos play normally, some just show the first frame as a static image and no video playback occurs.

If I take the same presentation and play it from my laptop, all the videos play as expected.

Hmm it seems like there might be a transcoding issue going on here. I will play around with some video backgrounds and then follow up with you offline.
