I was going to suggest the same thing. Glad to have another voice!
I also agree...but in the mean time...there is a pretty nifty utility that does this to any window on any app...it's called "deskpins" and it's free.
I use it for just this purpose...even inside the old V3!
No matter what the window is doing, or what it's function..it will pin a window to the top.
I think that the default should just be float, but a right click on the screen or on the "menu bar" area would be intuitive to me.
Or perhaps as you said, you can just make the selection immediately with one of 2 options; float or "float on top"
I agree, Bob, the majority of the time "on top" would be abnoxious, but there are many times when it would not be, especially when writing in another app using the Logos window as a reference. That would avoid so much alt-tabbing
how about an always on top popup instead of pane? Or hovering over the tab for the note file shows the notes in a popup window. or the notes displayed when hovering over a shortcut...just thoughts, and I don't know how useful they are. when I want to float something its usually so that I can view it, not edit it. But I suppose I could just put it in the top section of a pane. If it causes programming problems, headaches, and limitations the feature is not worth it to me.
Both!
I agree with Jacob on this one. Having the option to float or float on top is good, but you're going to need a way to toggle it as well perhaps in the right click menu.
Otherwise if you change your mind you're going to be opening and closing to re-open some windows. At least I would.
