I have this set in hard copy and have used it for many decades. It has superior content for Bible study (and much more). As a simple example, see the subject entry for "Well" (volume 10, pages 903-905). As a Logos product the abundant Scripture references ought to be readily accessible. There are extensive bibliographies  for most subject entries, Biblical, historical, theological, biographical.  I am thankful a similar product which I also have in hard copy, The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, has recently moved into production. I look forward to its release in Logos. But over the years, I have found McClintock & Strong's Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, & Ecclesiastical Literature to be more than equally useful. For the Community Price, you cannot beat the value for such a valuable resource. I eagerly await receiving this resource in Logos. Take a look at the product in Community Pricing.

We need to get more people interested in this great resource!

I have a story to tell about the hard-copy set I own. I effectively bought it twice, but only have one copy. The store I bought it from first in Grand Rapids had a special on it, so I paid the amount, expecting it to be shipped to my home in Detroit. Never arrived--store went bankrupt. So I went to my usual bookseller, John's Bible and Bookstore, and had him order me a copy. It came. It was worth the double expense.

I am interested in Bible prophecy. I recently checked McClintock & Strong's entry on the Book of Revelation. The article has an extensive bibliography of books on Revelation. I checked its listing with the books I own in my own physical library, and they were all listed (the ones I have that are old enough to have been included). Many more works than what I own are listed. It is good to be able to learn of older works now largely forgotten. Sometimes I check for the author listing and find out more about the author and what other books he wrote. Many of those works can be found on Google Books, and some of them have even crept into the Logos library!

So, once again I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed with its usefulness.

I'd like to give a big push to this encyclopedia. I came across an article in it when researching Baxter's liturgy for the Savoy Conference and was suitably impressed. It's available (all but Volume 2) on the Internet Archive, so you can browse through facsimiles of it to see how good it is. Individual volumes are available in hardcover on eBay for $20 each, or the whole 12-volume set from Amazon for $425. But having it in digital text format all interlinked with your Logos library would make it way more useful.

So why not hop over and bid for this entire encyclopedia in Community Pricing for only $50. Actually, the bidding will probably need to get pushed higher for this to get over the hump. I've bid $70. I recommend somewhere in the $50 to $70 range for now.

    Yes

We've heard before that the bidding on some resource needs to be higher in order for it to get over the top.  It always manages to get over the top at the lower bid.  It only takes longer.

Some of us are getting impatient.

It didn't help that  The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge: Embracing Biblical, Historical, Doctrinal, and Practical Theology and Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Biography from the Earliest Times to the Present Day (1908–1914). Went into community pricing almost at the same time. The consensus form discussing the two seemed to indicate that Schaff-Herzog was the better of the two sets and it is the one that got made. I own an electric edition of the McClintock (ages digital, PDF) I found it very useful but rarely refer to it now, I would still like to see it in Logos but placing them up at the same time (within weeks at least) seems almost like a battle over which will get made Strawberry Jam or Raspberry Jam.... I happen to like both, but the world of Logos has spoken, Strawberry is available.... but I do hope it gets under contract soon...

Last post was in January. Once again let's try to push this resource into production. Though dated, it still contains a "gold mine" of information.
