New Notes

I have just started another note only to be told that I already have a document called 'new notes'

Where the warning is fine, there is no indication as to what to do about it.

I presume that I can rename this note by typing over the title but how can I see the other 'New Notes'? or continue editing the other 'New Notes', or rename the other 'New Notes'. If I continue with this newer version will the older version be over-written.

There is no other clickable hot spot on the 'error bar' other than the close button ... which has closed the error message but left me uncertain as to what will happen next.

The new interface seems to be a little confusing in what you can do. An error message is good but not if all it does is cause confusion without offering up any solutions.

    Martin,

I notice that this happens not just in notes but in all "new" created files.

here is what you have to do:

Go to the "files" tab and choose the "new whatever" on the right side then right click it and choose delete.

I noticed that ANY newly created thing just doesn't "go away" it's there forever until you delete it.

This includes visual filters that I couldn't figure out how to get rid of until I discovered this.

My choice would be to have any "new" file created default to "delete on exit" instead of keeping them all.

I have a problem that when I create a new note, the formatting box appears directly over the Subject/topic line making it almost impossible to add.. its in right place for adding by right click

I agree that this needs some work to make it more intuitive and user friendly. I was confused by this yesterday and had the same exact problems and questions.

A few suggestions regarding the Notes:

Make Notes fully operational like Microsoft Word (Highlights, underlining, tables etc.) or at least have the following:

Option to underline notes/text like version 3
Option to highlight text in notes
Option to change color of text in notes
Hyperlink scripture text in notes (when you click on that scripture that you type in your notes it goes to that bible verse

Have the ability to split the title heading in the Notes tab so that it is in the form of contents page down the left hand side of the screen and also have the possibility to alphabetically sort the title heading in the Notes tab like version 3 of Logos
Have a search facility where you can search for a word in all of the your Notes files rather than just other book resources and bibles
Possibility to transfer notes from V.3 or import them into version 4?

Choose where to store your notes (under the different ones you have created) when you highlight a word on your bible just like version 3 has the option

I agree it seems a little misleading here. The idea is each time you create a document, it will automatically be saved when you close the panel for the sake of convenience, hence if you forget to change the title name, it will show you the warning message the next time you create a document of that type. Closing it out does not overwrite the previously created document that shares the same title, each document assumes a 'unique' association. This does create a problem, the file menu begins having duplicate entries and if you use the command bar and type 'Open <Title>' it will show multiple 'Open <Title>' results since there is more than one document with that name.

The File Menu's right-hand side will show you a list of all the documents you created in the past.

This is a good bug. I think a good solution would be to inform the user to create a unique title to avoid confusion.. Thoughts?

Richard: Scripture references should be automatically turned into hyperlinks as you type, as long as they are fully qualified references (eg, "Jn 1:1" but not "verse 2"). Looks like that's not happening, so that's a bug.

thanks Eli, most probably a bug as i'm typing everything but still no hyperlink. For example:

    John 1:1

    Jn 1:1
