Proclaim Standardization of Font Styles

Our church is loving proclaim!  They could immediately tell the difference between our old software (ppt).

However, one of the frustrating things is when adding a song to the set list, it automatically reverts the text back to the standard black font with no drop shadow or outer glow.  We've noticed that white text with a black outer glow helps the text stand out on most motion backgrounds.  Is there a way that I can standardize this so that every song already comes up with this font with dropshadow and outerglow, or do we have to go in to each and every song each week to change it?

    Hello Joshua,

What you could do to preserve the changes you make to songs is by doing the following:

    • create a song item
    • make the changes you would like (for example, change the text to white w/ a black outer glow) to that particular song item
    • When you want to add another song, go to add item and add the song you created from the 'Reuse items' menu and change the song

This will allow you to create a song item already customized to your liking. However there is no way to change the default font that is displayed when creating a new item at this moment.

I don't know if you're one of the software engineers, but if you are,

Can we expect this feature on a update sometime soon? Setting default fonts/backgrounds would be really useful, and seems like a pretty basic function.

We may make future changes which will allow selecting styles from different service items, but you will not be able to set them as a default. The reason you cannot change the default font style is because the font style is tied to the media which is used. The workarounds available are creating an item w/ the customizations you want and then add it to other/new presentations with the 'reuse items' menu (like a template of sorts). You can also go into 'Customize' and save a style of font so then you can quickly change the font of an item by going to the customize menu.

I'd like to add my voice to Joshua's. 99% of slides have the main text the same. So why cannot we set a stylesheet that determines what that looks like?

This is especially important on the confidence monitor or NDI output for livestream overlays. Every single slide i have to go in and tell it I want an outer stroke of a certain size and color. It's always the same, there should be a way to set the default.

@Steve, this is a very old thread. Luckily you can do what you want today! Go to settings and you'll find both Default Media and Default Confidence. You can setup defaults for all the item types you use and even for specific virtual screens. So that way songs will always be formatted for your live stream automatically.

You can also right click on the slide canvas and hit set as default. This will automatically create a smart media template for you and set it as default for the selected item and virtual screen.
