bible slide formatting is lost when adding a new slide

The new version has made creating my sermon slides much slower and worse.  When I add a bible slide using the keyboard command "control, shift, b" the formatting does not transfer from the previous slide I was working with.  The justification changes, my custom header is gone.  So now I have to continue duplicating the previous slide in order to keep the formatting.  It used to carry forward the exact formatting, can this be fixed?

This is now by design because the customizations made to a slide now are not changed when changing the background. However a good workaround for now would be to use the 'reuse items' menu to add the bible slide with the correct formatting; After that, you would change the reference and it would have the desired formatting.
