Can Proclaim work offline?

Does Proclaim have to be constantly connected to the internet? I've seen several different posts at various times that people have run into some issues with Proclaim and have mentioned possible issues with the Proclaim servers. I like what I see as far as features and functionality but am struggling to see the advantages of Proclaim if there are continual issues because of the Proclaim servers. Can one download an entire service presentation to their client machine and successfully run it on a Sunday morning?

Hello Scott,

Yes you can run Proclaim while not connected to the internet. In order for this to work, sign into Proclaim while connected to the internet, and then when you close Proclaim make sure to not sign out. Then when you start up Proclaim offline, you will still be signed in and ready to go.

A few things to note about offline usage however: Signals will not work and you will not be able to control the presentation via the Proclaim Remote App.

I hope you forgive all my questions but I'm trying to determine what will best meet our needs. We only have DSL at church and am wondering how that will impact us. Will Proclaim still run smoothly over DSL or do you recommend high-speed cable? Does the Proclaim Remote App work over the internet or does that need 3G/4G/cell service to function properly? Our church is for the most part in a dead zone for cell phones. Does the Proclaim Remote App work on iOS, Android, and Windows?

I would recommend high speed cable. As for the remote, it is available on iOS and Android (not on Windows) and can be used with wifi or cell service.

Scott,

We always run offline once our presentation computer has been synchronized. We have yet to have any issue running offline.

Conversely, we did experience some freezing while running online which seemed to coincide with the application synchronizing during ON-AIR. It was for this reason that we began running in offline mode.

Please note that this all occurred under the previous version running on an older .Net Framework...

I am sure that you will be ok with Proclaim and DSL working together.

But, as they say, 'the proof of the pudding is in the eating' so why not give the 30 day free trial a go?
