Proclaim Keeps Shutting Down

Since the new design, my Proclaim at our church keeps shutting down. Often when getting the songs put in on Sunday AM and doing some form of customization. It does not do this from other locations, like home when I work on it. The last 3 Sundays it shut down between 4 and 6 times while trying to get a setup, and one midweek it shut down in the middle of service. HELP - what is going on with it?

What operating system are you using at church? Since it is only happening there, it likely is a local operating system issue. Also, does it crash when you are "on air"?

The church has Windows Vista I believe - other systems are a little more current. Yes it is going down while on air - that is the normal time it crashes is on air, but actually off air as well. What do you do with the OS - I am not in a position to make changes to the computer at this point.

Since this is a new problem since the recent update, I would start by making sure you had adequate memory (ram) on the computer. Inadequate memory will cause the system to crash. Do you know how much you have?

I forgot to ask if you tried uninstalling and re-installing Proclaim?

Yes, I did uninstall and reinstall, our memory has been running low lately, perhaps that is the issue. I wish we did not have to reupdate, because what once functioned well, now does not function!

I believe in windows vista you can allocate memory to that program. Vista hogs memory, but if you increase the allocation, all may be well. Your other option is to add ram to the machine. Ram is pretty inexpensive and you can do it yourself. If you do not know how, search it on youtube, it doesn't take long.

I would not hesitate receiving the updates, however, you can choose to ignore them. In fact, you may be able to go to your control panel and remove the update you have though I would not advise that since proclaim is a web based program.
