Proclaim storage space

Hello,

I am trying out Proclaim, and so far things are progressing quite well.

One issue I am having is that it seems to be taking a lot of disk space.

I am using a MacBook Pro with a small internal SSD hard drive so I need to be able to offload the storage for any applications that take a lot of storage.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to install the app and its cache on an external hard drive?  (I assume the app can be installed on an external drive, but will that move all of the videos and graphics as well?)

Help is needed because I really like this software but I can't let it chew up all of the space on my internal hard drive SSD.

Hi Ron,

You just need to copy the application to the external drive. Mac apps can actually run from anywhere, it is merely convention to keep them in the /Applications folder.

Of course all the preferences will still be in your home Library folder, but the app will be on the external drive.

Proclaim states that it needs a minimum of 12Gbs to run, however it may require more if your media library (within Proclaim) is large. I would assume, the media inside of Proclaim would move with the Software. This isn't the case with a lot of software however because most software is "connected" to the media no matter the location. That can cause issues since those connections are required. If the connection is lost, there should be a caution flag next to the video.
