Syncing with Logos App

I can't figure out how to get my father-in-law's Logos app books and reading plan to show up in the Faithlife app. The books and reading plan show up fine on faithlife.com, biblia.com, they are just not crossing between the apps. How do I force them to sync? I need KJV bible in Faithlife and the reading plan in Faithlife.

Thanks.

HI Brian - and welcome to the forums.

Can I check a few details with you?

    • I think you are saying that your father-in-law has both the Logos app and the Faithlife app on his mobile device - and books and reading plans present in the Logos app aren't present in the Faithlife app. Is that correct?
    • What versions of the apps are you running and is this on Android or iOS?
    • Are the same account details being used for both apps?
    • Books are synced from Logos servers so any books which your father-in-law owns which are visible in the Logos app should be visible on the faithlife app (in other words its not the apps synching with each other but each app being served from a central location).
    • Where are the reading plans being created? It sounds like in the Logos app. Is that correct?
    • Do you have any filters set on the library in the Faithlife app?
    • How many resources do you see in the library in the different apps?

Hopefully this will help us to start narrow down the problem.

Hi Graham, sorry for not being more detailed in my first post...

    1. Correct. The Logos App and the Faithlife App have a completely different set or Resources available - they are not sharing as expected.

    2. IOS 7.1.1 on an iPad 2. Logos App 4.2.0.2367. Faithlife App 4.2.0.2367.

    3. Yes. The same account details are present in both apps. I also logged in to logos.com using the same login credentials.

    4. Understand. When I logged in to Biblia.com for example, I was able to use the KJV as my primary Bible version. When I logged in to Faithlife.com I was able to using KJV as my primary Bible version along with the Faithlife Study Bible in parallel. He has KJV available with his Logos App but it is not available in the Faithlife App. He has the Faithlife Study Bible available in the Faithlife App but not in his Logos App. His Reading Plan is available in the Logos App only.

    5. I am not aware of any filters set in Faithlife unless filters are preset during a fresh install there should be no filters set.

    6. I don't know the exact number only that none of the Resources in Logos App are available in the Faithlife App and vice versa.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Brian

    Thanks for the detailed responses.

    6. I don't know the exact number only that none of the Resources in Logos App are available in the Faithlife App and vice versa.

This is strange. Both the Logos app and Faithlife app are served from Logos servers and should have a set of base resources.

Does the "Lexham English Bible" for example appear in both?

Has your father-in-law purchased Logos resources or is he using the apps with a free account?

If you use your father-in-law's account to access "bible.faithlife.com/library" how many Bible resources are shown? (Using a free account I can see 51)

Ok, so I deleted both apps from his iPad. I then reinstalled both apps. After the reinstall, Faithlife still only showed the handful of free Faithlife resources. Logos, however, showed all of the free Logos and Faithlife resources.

At the end of the day all I wanted to do was to get the Faithlife Study Bible to show up in the second pane while he was reading his KJV bible. What a mess I had to go through to get that simple thing.

    Thanks for your help team!
