Sloppy unfinished e-book (publisher's fault): The Methodist Experience in America Volume 2: Sour
These "still to come" bits are visible in the preview of the Kindle edition too, so it's the publisher's fault, but you might want to communicate with them that they need to finish this, and try to get the updated digital file from them.

The "art to come" MAY be (I don't know for sure) a byproduct of the printing process. The text used may have been from an earlier copy before the team came in to tidy up the book for print (including adding art). Sometimes art is left out of books due to copyright issues. They may have been lazy and decided to use a copy from earlier in the process and never "cleaned it up".

I'm sure there are good explanations for why this occurred, but it's inexcusable and needs to be fixed. If there are copyright issues that require leaving the art out, then the text "(art to come)" should be removed.

I agree. It is up to the publisher to provide a good copy of the text, but my guess is that might not happen. [:S] In addition to notifying Vyrso here (as you have done), I would suggest writing to the publisher.
Recently I purchased an e-text book (not from Logos/Vyrso... they didn't offer it) which claimed to be the "second edition," but wasn't. I argued with [deleted] the company in question. They dogmatically claimed that it indeed was the second edition. The problem? The second edition came out 15 years later and had four additional chapters and some changes to the text. I KNEW it wasn't the "second edition" because I was looking at a hard copy! I contacted the publisher and they said they would take care of it. They sent me a PDF of the second edition, but the other site has not been updated and STILL says "second edition." I left a review hoping no one else would make the same mistake. It would be bad to flunk an assignment because you read and wrote about the wrong "chapter 15."

If it were as big an issue as having the wrong edition when it was supposed to be the second edition, I might. But as it is these glitches are not stopping me from being able to make good use of the book. I don't have time to follow up with the publisher, so I leave it as Logos's responsibility, if they see my post and care and have the desire to follow up.
I too am not very sanguine that it will happen, but I felt it was my duty to report it.

Thanks for pointing out the errors Rosie! We'll let the publisher know about the problems you listed!
