Proclaim Remote Not Working!!

Hello, I am trying to use the Proclaim App on both iPhone and Android devices, this morning during worship service, and it is not working. Keeps on saying Request Failed. We really need this to work today, it is becoming a very undependable app to use with your program period. It is a very big inconvenience to our worship services.

Please do something to fix this concern.

Wow... that was not fun at all... our first service was an unpleasant experience - I DO have a plan B - a Logitech remote clicker that has a 75' range so I could run the service, but one or two of the slides I added this morning did not load at all.(Edit to say one more service to go, and the iPad went on line, so hoping...)

I'm sure you know this - but this can't happen on Sunday mornings - If I'm worried about what's working or not working, I get distracted and miss cues and it makes me look like more of a dufus than I already am - and I don't need any more help with that! In some of our churches, technology is a hard sell, and if it doesn't work well, it makes us look bad and people feel justified in opposing the expenditures.

Please add server capacity or whatever you need to keep Sunday mornings going well!

The greatest features that have kept us with Proclaim are: cloud based team editing, the remote, integrated graphics, and a notes presentation view.

We have a weekly fight we now have a running joke regarding whether the set up will work weekly. It constantly has a hard time synching. For a time the notes were misaligned with the presenter view this seemed to take upwards of a month to fix.

I've personally been a Libronix user through Logos 5, I started using Proclaim in the public beta I love the company. However, I can no longer endure this and bring our church through it. Further as a preaching pastor I cannot distract myself with software that is a) in the way and b) that makes accessing my notes, difficult.

I believe that we'll now begin talking about the switch to something else. It will be sad and we'll miss the great features but cannot keep going like this.

Our Second service went FAIRLY well - it seemed a little laggy, and I was a bit on edge. Mostly ok at the 2nd service (10:45-11:45, PST). Something got fixed - and thank you for that!

I was able to do the first service with my Logitech presenter - got whiplash turning around to see what was on the screen. I told the congregation that I would be as surprised as they were to see what was up there. FORTUNATELY, I've been preaching long enough to be able to handle this kind of thing. People said that if I hadn't mentioned anything, they wouldn't have known there as an issue.

I really need to get a team trained to run Proclaim except for the sermon part. I don't really have a tech team, and my system is pretty complicated, so I should do that.

I ALSO recommend to anyone relying on a tablet to control the service that you have a Plan B in place. The Logitech presenter I use has a dongle that plugs into the laptop and using RF, has a range of about 75' or so (there's a cheaper one with a range of 30' - not recommended). This required dusting off my PowerPoint presentation mode skills, but it worked... just a little nerve-wracking on a Sunday that already had a lot of moving parts to it.

Let's not do this again!!!!

Yesterday morning around 8:00, we set up a new Mac Pro, downloaded Proclaim, WireCast Desktop Presenter, and iTunes Match. Had everything ready to go in about an hour.

We had no issues running Proclaim. All the service items downloaded that was set up by two other laptops during the week.

The only issue we had was that the pastor's iPad mini couldn't connect to Proclaim. I thought it was because we set up everything that morning and maybe we did something wrong with the internet settings. Maybe it was the issue described above.

Regardless, we always have our sound guy ready to control Proclaim if something happens. The iPad could die, the WiFi could glitch on us, or who knows what else. We try to eliminate as many variables as possible.

Having a convoluted or confusing set up doesn't mean your system is awesome. If you're able to make things as simple as possible and still do all the amazing AV things, then it's an awesome system. I spent around 4 months getting all our AV stuff to be as automated as possible. The easier you can make it the better because then you can sit back and have volunteers do it without the fear of something going crazy.
