BUG: Link error (Mac only?)

Graham reported that clicking on this map opened Bible Facts to the Kingdom of Herod (He uses Winders while I used 5.2b Beta 3 Mac OS 10.9.4)
However, when I clicked on the map and then the caption under the map, I got these results
Note that the map is correct, but the information on the left of the graphic is not. That may be from a previous search, but I do not remember it.

This behaviour is present in Windows as well.
Prior to clicking on the map in FSB I had "Cyprus" open in Bible Facts and that information was not refreshed when clicking on the link.
So at least its not a Mac-specific issue[:)]

Hi Jack, I'm going to try and address your concerns in this thread and the Bible Facts search issue in one post (I'll reply there referring here). From the other thread:

The Bible Facts tool actually isn't designed to search for maps specifically, but instead it uses the Biblical People, Places, Things, and Events databases. The maps are more like data that comes up (at the bottom of the right panel) in relation to one of the above items. As a result, searching for map titles (as you found) doesn't work, but searching for places on those maps will. In fact, you can find the "Kingdom of Herod the Great" map in the image results for Abila, Cyprus, Jericho, etc. To open Bible Facts directly to a specific map, you open from a resource, as you did in the FSB. Which leads to the next point:

The maps utilize the Bible Facts panel for zooming, panning, etc. but also so that, when you click on a linked location (such as Jericho) it can pull up the Biblical Place info for that link and open it in the same panel. When you open the map itself from the FSB link, it doesn't have a Place to populate the left panel with. Which leads to:

This is the tricky one. If you have a previous search that is a relevant Place on the map (such as Cyprus in Graham's example) it will retain that information. If your last Place (or other info) isn't relevant to the map, it appears to pull the first alphabetical item from the map linking, which in this case is Abila, just to the right of Gadara in the light-green region.
You can reproduce this by clicking Cyprus, closing Bible Facts, and opening the map again. Cyprus will still be in the left panel. Then, search Bible Facts for Daniel. Close Bible Facts again, and click the map in FSB again. Daniel will be replaced with Abila of the Decapolis.

If you weren't aware, we do have a map-specific search in Image search:
Interestingly enough, however, this doesn't seem to include the Faithlife Study Bible maps. I think this is because the FSB maps are primarily links to Bible Facts. Therefore, your point stands that we really should make them searchable in one location or another.
I'll make a case. [:)]
