Chinese: works in Windows; needs workaround on Mac

In testing Proclaim, we noticed Chinese will display properly on Windows, but leave out characters on the Mac (tested on two different Macs with latest version of Proclaim).

The workaround for the Mac is to bold the Chinese font – then all the characters will display (albeit in an ugly font).

From searching the forums, I know there have been challenges displaying non-English text, but it seemed to afflict both the Windows & Mac versions.

What is the next step I should do in troubleshooting for the Mac?

I am not able to reproduce this issue in house. Do you have an example of Chinese text that does not show correctly on the Mac? There have previously been issues displaying non-english text, but those were fixed a while ago. If you give me an example of text that does not render properly (or I find an example) I can publish a bug report and send that to development.

The characters show up correctly for me. Does this happen with all backgrounds as well, or only a certain background? Also, what version of OS X are your macs running?
