Biblical People, Places and Things
I didn't realize this information was out now. Biblical People seems interesting. I need to play around with it a bit but it looks good so far. Biblical maps same deal. Biblical things seems like there is no info in the main body of the window when it pops up. should something be there?

Biblical Things should pull in any images from any resources in your library that are tagged with the term you're looking at.

Phil, Is there a list of resources which have tagged images?
There may be, but I haven't seen an official list anywhere. Tagging images is a standard part of our book-building process now, and we've gone back and added tagging to lots of existing resources. But I'm not sure how many or which ones.
BTW, you can now search for images. Try #image or #image temple in the Basic Search.

I have the Tyndale Bible Dictionary and the picture you have in your post Phil, but like Philip I just get a blank space.
Longtime Logos user (more than $30,000 in purchases) - now a second class user because I won't pay them more every month or year.

I've tried several different bible things and none have any images down the bottom.
Oh, I just remembered that there is a problem with Biblical Things in Beta 1. It should be fixed for Beta 2.

That is probably one of my most desired features, thank you thank you thank you!
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I love the right click image options, especially send to powerpoint. Any possibility of giving us the ability to add our own tags to the pictures from this menu?

Hmm. That might be useful, especially if those tags could be pushed to all users. This could improve image searching for everyone. Neat idea. Not sure what would be involved from a technical standpoint though. I'll bring it up for consideration.

May I suggest that the tags pushed to all users be reviewed before pushed? Although that could lead to problems as well I realize, and probably result in a whole new office position in Bellingham, (I'll do it!).

I believe we'll be sharing user tags on books, but a book must be tagged at least 5 times with the same tag before that tag gets pushed to everyone. We'll adjust this as necessary.

Excellent move! Thanks Phil for that input. <tongue_in_cheek>Of course when five of us misspell the same tag does that validate it?</tongue_in_cheek>

I would love this IF we are given a tag editor that lists all the current tags, note whether they were "pushed" or personally added, the ability to hide certain tags from view, and the ability to report tagging issues for personally review from logos. To use the extreme case, if 5 people tag a book with an obscenity, I would hate to have that automatically pushed to me [8-|]

Phil,
This is awesome! I don't know how many times I have wished in the past that there was an easy way to find a picture of an item in my books. I just tried this by doing #image "first century tomb" and the results were great!!!!

Did you know guys that Biblical Places work? Have you seen this?
I did try this earlier, but when I tried the Google Map, with Jerusalem listed, the site took me to some place in the water! Guess the link was not working properly? Now when I try it again, it did indeed take me to Jerusalem.
When I had Deleuxe Maps opened, and then tried Bible Places, a map did come up. Since Jerusalem was listed as the Biblical Place, I had assumed that clicking on Google Maps would open to Jerusalem, but that was not the case.

Actually, the Google Maps link takes you to a map based on the latitude and longitude corresponding to the cursor position. You can see how the geocoordinates change as you move around on the map.
So you may need to zoom or pan a little to get the position of interest (and zooming in may help with precision), and then move the cursor off the map (quickly, before it updates the position). There may be some changes to how this works in the final version.
Also note that the city labels and symbols are hyperlinked to their Biblical Place information: so if you click on Jerusalem and then move off the map, it will remember the last position.
