Some humble suggestions :-)

Hey guys,

Thanks for being on top of updates and showing us that this software team is actively working on things. I love the media browser and I love that we don't have to hit the "customize" button anymore. However, I think there are some major things missing:

1) The media browser allows files that the Proclaim team offers (Smart Media) to be grouped by "series." Many, many churches make their own artwork/videos/etc. for their own series. When a file is uploaded the "series" option should be available.

2) Files in the Media browser should be able to have their tags edited as well as the "series" edited. It's a little frustrating to have all of my uploaded stuff in "group upload." That really doesn't help me organize our original content very much. It's also frustrating that tags can't be edited. Also, it would be really helpful to be able to multi-select items (for instance, we put in an image slideshow for a funeral but no longer want all those images in the library, and it's taking forever to delete them).

3) Which brings me to the next thing: every time I delete something from the media library it then refreshes the library. Very frustrating when I just want to go through and quickly delete a bunch of stuff.

4) It would be SUPER helpful to have a song library similar to this media library. Since Proclaim is so team-friendly we have multiple people working on it, but sometimes that means duplicate songs get created instead of imported from CCLI, etc. It would be great to be able to see the song library at-a-glance so we can maintain it well.

5) Default/universal text and background. Please.

These are probably the major things that I'd like to see right now. But keep up the good work. It's a great piece of software that is obviously designed specifically with the Church in mind and there's really nothing else like it out there.

  • Awesome Points! I hope these are taken into consideration and implemented.

We have plans to allow users create their own groups of media, not in series but boards, similar to Pinterest if you're familiar with that paradigm.

We plan to make improvements here as well as supporting multi-select.

Great suggestion. We're also considering adding audio tracks to the media browser.

This one is tough. The text styling is tied directly to the background. The idea is for them to be designed together and if you switch the background the text automatically changes to complement the new background. In the case where you upload your own media I can see how giving the user control over those defaults could be helpful.

    Thanks again.

    Scott,

Any ETA on the User "boards" for media organization?

We're in the middle of migrating our back end media storage location. Once that is complete we'll be able to add support for boards. In other words we're working on it but I'm hesitant to give an ETA.

On a slightly related note we do plan to ship an update next Monday that will allow you to edit your media (title, description, tags, loop behavior) after uploading. You can then use tags to group media, while waiting for board support.
