Blanking text

when the blank text function is pressed in a song, would it be possible to hold this mode so when I change to a new song the new background shows but song text is still blanked and only appears when I un-blank the text?

Also the smooth transitions do not fade when blanking is applied it just cuts to show or hide.

This is not possible at the moment.

This is a known issue and there is an active bug report for it.
