I tried to open proclaim today and it wouldn't open. I rebooted several times. uninstalled and reinstalled. please help. others have opened proclaim on their computers today. hope I'm attaching the right stuff0272.Proclaim.log
Based on your log file Proclaim is failing very early in startup. I recommend renaming the Proclaim folder in C:\Users\vmac\AppData\Local\ to Proclaim.old. This will cause all your data to be re-synced and we can eliminate the possibility of corrupted local data. Sorry for the inconvenience.
can't seem to find that folder exactly. do I just rename proclaim log files to proclaim.old?
Paste the following path into the windows file explorer location bar
C:\Users\vmac\AppData\Local
You should see a Proclaim directory. Renaming the directory to Proclaim.old will cause your data to be recreated at next startup.
didnt work
Thanks for trying that, we can rule out corrupt local data.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? I notice you're running an older version (1.22.0.0540). You can download the latest version from http://proclaimonline.com/app/download/
Another possible contributing factor could be an out of date video driver. Have you run Windows Update lately?
We had a similar issue today. I was advancing through songs that had video backgrounds and I wasn't getting the video effect, just a static slide. So I closed Proclaim to reboot it. But when I went to re-open it, double-clicking on the desktop icon, nothing happened. If we re-boot the computer in this situation, Proclaim will open. But if anything goes wrong during the service, I am deathly afraid to close Proclaim, as I'm afraid that I'll have to reboot during service. Any ideas?
My guess is Proclaim was crashing in an odd way and hanging during the crash. This likely happened after the main windows had closed so you couldn't see the application running but it was. We prevent multiple instances of Proclaim from running at a time so when you tried to "restart" it would see the old version as still running and exit early. If you get in this state again you can use Windows task manager to delete the hung Proclaim.exe process. This will allow you to start Proclaim again without a reboot.
From the couple posts you've made it really sounds like out of date drivers. Again my recommendation is to install all available updates. Let us know if you continue to experience these issues.
Hi Scott,
This is similar to the crashes and problems that I have been having for the past few months and for us, unfortunately updating drivers hasn't helped. Have you got any other ideas what could fix the issue?
I downloaded several Microsoft updates and reinstalled proclaim. That worked! Thanks so much.

Hello Jordan, I just replied to your earlier post and am now seeing that you've already updated all your drivers. I'm curious if you can reproduce the out of memory issue when the project is not connected. This information would be helpful in knowing where to look next. Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you, I know it must be frustrating.
