I have a copy of the RSV on my Logos application but it does not have any of the footnotes showing alternate renderings or textual variations.

Is there any way to get a copy of the RSV with these on Logos?

Does the RSV2CE  meet your needs?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

  • Thanks, MJ, that does help. Being Orthodox I would prefer the footnotes with the RSV on account of the longer canon but the RSV-2CE is otherwise almost identical to the RSV and does have the advantage for me of including the additions to Daniel and Esther within the main texts of those books.

I think this gets me pretty close to where I want to be, I appreciate the tip.

I wonder why the footnotes were left out of the RSV? It's such an essential part of the translation.

For the NT, you should check out the EOB:NT, which has footnotes on textual variants throughout. The Lexham English Septuagint is a great English translation of the Greek Old Testament, as well.
